Hello friends and community, after a while away, here I am with another post to share my adventure in my little vegetable garden here at home.

In the last few days, I have been spending more time in the garden. It is one of those spaces that calms me, where I can disconnect from everything else and simply take care of the land, which I love to do. This week was especially productive, I was planting onions and cucumbers, two crops that I really like to follow from the beginning and that I plant every year.

Although onions are simple, they require some patience. I like to align the rows well and make sure the soil is loose enough for them to grow strong, since I use a lot of onions in my cooking here at home. As for cucumbers, if the weather is good, they grow quickly and produce a lot. I hope that this year's production goes well, I have high expectations, I love eating cucumbers in salads with lettuce.

While I was working with my hands in the soil planting onions and cucumbers, I noticed that the broccoli was ready to harvest. It was a special moment. I love seeing those big, round broccoli and harvesting them is very tasty. Harvesting something that I planted weeks before is always rewarding. I feel that each sprout shows a bit of my dedication, since I like to take care of the plants, water them and see them grow healthy. There weren't many, but they were beautiful and green, ready to go on the plate. In principle, I should eat them today or tomorrow.

Working in the garden, as you know from my posts, has taught me a lot. You learn to respect the rhythm of nature, to accept the good days and the bad ones. Some plants grow better than others, and there are always surprises, good and bad. But it's all part of the process. Each season is a new opportunity to learn and improve, and I have learned a lot.

I am sharing this because I believe that growing, even on a small scale, in my case in a small garden, is a powerful way of connecting with the earth and with ourselves and it is a healthy activity. And who knows, maybe this post will inspire someone to start their own small vegetable garden. It's a great activity for us, since we reap what we plant and appreciate the plants that grow with our dedicated care.

Olá amigos e comunidade após um tempo de ausência aqui venho eu para mais um post e partilha da minha aventura na minha pequena horta aqui em casa.
Nos últimos dias, tenho passado mais tempo na horta. É um daqueles espaços que me acalma, onde consigo desligar do resto e simplesmente cuidar da terra, o que adoro fazer. Esta semana foi especialmente produtiva, estive a plantar cebolo e pepinos, duas culturas que gosto muito de acompanhar desde o início e que todos os anos planto.

O cebolo, apesar de simples, exige alguma paciência. Gosto de alinhar bem as fileiras e garantir que o solo está solto o suficiente para que cresçam fortes, já que uso muito cebola na culinária aqui em casa. Já os pepinos, se o tempo ajudar, crescem rápido e dão bastante. Espero que este ano a produção corra bem tenho boas expectativas, adoro comer pepinos em saladas com alface.

Enquanto andava com as mãos na terra a plantar cebolo e pepinos, reparei que os brócolos já estavam prontos para colher. Foi um momento especial adoro ver aqueles brócolos redondos e grandes e colher são muito saborosos. Colher algo que plantei semanas antes é sempre gratificante. Sinto que cada broto traz um pouco da minha dedicação, já que gosto de cuidar das plantas regar e vê-las crescer sempre saudáveis. Não foram muitos, mas estavam bonitos e verdes, prontos para ir para o prato, em principio ou hoje ou amanhã já devo de os comer.

Trabalhar na horta como vocês sabem pelas minhas partilhas tem-me ensinado muita coisa. Aprende-se a respeitar o ritmo da natureza, a aceitar os dias bons e os menos bons. Há plantas que crescem melhor do que outras, e há sempre surpresas, boas e más. Mas tudo faz parte. Cada época é uma nova oportunidade de aprender e melhorar, e eu tenho aprendido muito.

Faço esta partilha porque acredito que cultivar, mesmo que em pequena escala, no meu caso numa pequena horta, é uma forma poderosa de nos ligarmos à terra e a nós próprios e é uma atividade saudável.
