As the heavy cart approached the Silverton all hell broke out on the wharf! Black Bart stepped forward and with a brutal thrust, buried his dagger in the ribs of the unsuspecting banker!
In a split second the banker was down and writhing in pain in what might be a death blow! Suddenly Bart raised the bloody dagger high in the air and yelled out, “Huzza!!!”

[Youngstown…on the wharf…]
Mass confusion broke out on the wharf! With the banker down and bleeding profusely, his men huddle close around him, not knowing quite what had happened!
Meanwhile Black Bart slipped away in the crowd and though there was hysteria and shock amongst the masses, Bart’s men moved with surgical precision. At least thirty well-armed traders stormed La Serpent, shooting the few banker’s men who had already boarded the craft to secure and inspect their purchase!
Clouds of powder smoke buffeted the hull of the Corvette as two men fell dead over the rail and three others fell on the deck! Bart’s men boarded the ship and with daggers in hand, finished off the wounded...
... and then began untying the mooring lines!
A hundred yards west, Lieutenant Gratefuleveryday and his two guards helped shepherd the silver cart towards the Silverton’s cargo ramp. That was the moment that thirty to forty of Bart’s men slid forward out of the crowd and ran to intercept them! Out of the corner of his eye Grateful saw the attack coming and called out for assistance!
"Attackers trying to hijack our silver!” He yelled as he pushed with all his might.
But the warning was not needed as Warrant Officer Bleujay’s sharp eyes caught the movement…
“Shoulder your weapons!” She cried out loudly as she drew forth her sword and pointed it dead on the lead trader running in front...
“Fire!”
The musketeers belched their fiery loads from the portside rail and seven traders fell dead on the wharf while an eighth, lay on his side, holding his left shoulder!
Suddenly Black Bart himself suddenly appeared amidst the turmoil with twenty some odd men and charged towards the silver cart in an attempt to cut off its pathway to the Silverton!
