Hello hello silver bloggers, music lovers and Hello hivers!

Inspiration don't you just love it? The clocks went back on Sunday meaning it gets dark an earlier haha and it drives me up the bloody wall.

Go to work in dark, come home in the dark yeah not my cup of tea lol!

The lead image picture was taken at 5.18pm and it won't be long before it is pitch black at that time!

So surprise surprise today we are having three tunes about the darkness!

It is Tuesday and that of course means that it's #ttt or #threetunetuesday and so it's time to share some tunes with you!

@ablaze started #ttt 231 weeks ago! Go check out what it is all about on his last post Tom Waits (Foreign Affairs) for Three Tune Tuesday - Week 231 - win some HBI

Do go support @ablaze as without him we would not have this mental fun musical activity that you can win HSBI from! I am happy to be one of the SIX sponsors and it is kinda fun checking out music from all over this global village of ours!

Long live #ttt 😁🎼 and #threetunetuesday

One of my favourite bands and we go back to 1987 to kick things off!

Tune 1 - Hazy Shade of Winter – The Bangles

Given the chilly turn in the weather and how quickly the days are shrinking, I've put together a trio of tracks that perfectly capture the mood of darkness, cold, and fluffing short winter days.

This one perfectly captures the transition into the gloomier half of the year. and a great tune to kick us off!

Released from Less Than Zero (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) in November 1987

Tune 2 - A Winter Shade of Pale – Procol Harum

Oh how I wish I had a pound for every time I heard this being playing in a pub juke box over the years! It is also a bit appropriate for the latest Silver Bloggers Prompt The Silverbloggers Chronicles - Prompt #18 - A Moment In History

Released from Shine On Brightlyin December 1968

We finish up with a tune from this millennium!

Tune 3 - Colder Weather – Zac Brown Band

I am not a big country fan, but certain bands certain musicians and certain songs I like!

This is one though ...
Released from You Get What You Give in 21st September 2010

So there you have it — my three picks for a "turning into darkenss" kind of week.

Which was your favourite tune? Or have you never heard of them?

Oh yes ... The answer ...

The band took their name from Marilyn Monroe's final film, The Misfits (1961)

Note: The 3 YouTube videos that I have shared are not owned by me, I am simply spreading great music on Hive.

Beautiful songs that bear witness to a sad moment in history. Best regards.

Ah yes they are :)

Hehehe. I've never heard of them😛

Hehe I thought you might have heard of the Bangles

No, maybe other songs😌😌

I love The Bangles, especially Susana Hoffs, how can you not? Awesome selections for this Tuesday! Too bad the clocks are falling back, I wish they would lock time into the summer version and stop monkeying around with the time every six months. It's bloody annoying!

Here there are constantly bills in congress to do just that, but guess what? Nothing ever happens... There is always some old school moron who loves the time change. Just goes to prove that nothing can ever be fixed here in the US because if you can't agree on the time how are you going to agree on a budget?...

But I disgress, awesome TTT my friend. Take care and stay warm especially when it's pitch black at 5 P.M.!

!PIMP

Yeah we both like Susana Hoffs lol! They keep harping on about doing away with it. There are worse things than the clocks changing but it is a pain in the arse when you lose an hours sleep in the spring lol!

So many memories with the Procol Harum piece - A Whiter Shade Of Pale. I remember lying on the floor of the house with a small radio pressed to my ear while the heat was an invisible layer at night. "With its white pallor" — that's how this piece was translated. Thanks for those memories, Ed. A musical hug to chase away the cold.

Hehe and you know I can imagine that wee radio against your ear and your black hair flowing everywhere! Yeah A whiter shade of pale with its white pallor makes sense doesn't it! A big memory hug Nancy and I hope the hurricane Melissa did not effect you!

We fall back this weekend. It usually gets a little brighter for a few days and then the dark really starts to settle in. Nice song choices. It's too bad Procol Harem didn't have more success outside of that tune. I think I heard that most of their other stuff was very different from that song.

Off the top of my head I can't think of any other Procol Harem songs, now you have me intrigued lol. I might just go digging tonight! Your turn this weekend then.

I feel like there are a handful of bands that had hits that weren't anything like what they usually created. Brandy by Looking Glass is another one that came to mind. Brandy was a huge hit, but their other stuff wasn't anything as pop catchy as that tune.

Congratulations you have been manual curated and upvoted by @ecency

Great proposal and taste in music, friend. I'm into grunge vibes right now, what d'you think about it?

grunge hehe, well I think they were great back in the day, although it was more an American genre than a British one

Each song fits perfectly with the “darkness” theme.

Hehe I thought so too

Great selection for the darkness coming! 👍🎶

Cheers Seck, I thought so too

Thank you so much

Of the three bands, I only know the first one because of their iconic song,
Walk Like an Egyptian, but it's always good to learn about songs, whether they're recent or not, from someone else.

Oh I thought you might have heard the second song, but yeah Walk Like An Egyptian was a huge hit!
