Feeling The Holiday Spirit : Setting Up Christmas Decorations

Despite the recent 6.9 magnitude that hit Cebu and the trauma that it left everyone, I have been trying so hard to keep my mind sane and relaxed. I cannot afford to panic when I have a son depending on me.

I find ways to divert my attention and I look for things to do that makes my mind relaxed and at ease.

We deciced to go to Mia Department Store Tuburan to buy some Christmas decors. To somehow, feel the Christmas spirit.

Once you enter Mia Department Store Tuburan the Christmas decors corner will be the one to welcome you first. There is a variety of choices to choose from— different Christmas tree sizes, different Christmas balls and designs and so much more.

During the earthquake, the town of Tuburan got hit also but it did not cause much damages unlike those of the damages in Northern Cebu that is why people here have been working like nothing happened and life here just feels like the normal.

Business establishments are just open and everyone are just hustling and are busy in their individual works.

We chose to buy a small Christmas tree because I want to place it in a table just beside our refrigerator. I heard 2026's color of the year is teal so we got color blue Christmas balls which is nearest to 2026's color of the year.

After the earthquake, I really see to it to not dwell too much on fear, because when doing so, we cannot move forward and we will be stuck forever. We have to move forward and work with so much cautious and care. We will never know when the earthquake might hit again.

I also bought a new broom and dust pan set for our room since our old broom got wet when our roof had a small hole. It was not yet repaired by the landlady's utility.

Mia Department Store Tuburan branch is such a happy place for me since I can buy a lot of home essentials for such cheap prices. This is like a cheaper version of MR.DIY.

After we bought the things we needed, we then went home to set up our Christmas tree and here is the finished product. Look at our small shining shimmering Christmas tree.

My son and our two dogs — Uno and Bruno took some photos together and the dogs literally had no idea what was going on.

This is now my favorite corner of our house — it bring so much hope and joy, knowing that Christmas is fast approaching and that we will be celebrating Jesus Christ's birthday.

It is a symbol of positivity — it means we are still alive, despite the many casualties during the earthquake, here we are still romanticizing life.

Hope you all feel that Christmas spirit despite all the calamities. He deserves to be celebrated. ALWAYS.
