Hmmmm! This issue of phone addiction is something we have been discussing since day one and I won't lie it has been a very relevant topic, no matter how you want to paint it the fact still remains that phone addiction is real and it's not only to a particular set of people but to all age whether teenagers, adulthood or elderly people but these days it's mostly found in the teens and adulthood, I have been through that route before and it wasn't funny at all, so today I will be sharing with you all the effect of phone addiction on the mental health of humans.

Some would just laugh and say is it that serious to the extent that it affects the mental health of humans, well all I can say to you now is that it's far worse than that, I have seen my own family members plus friends get glued to their screens not necessarily doing anything important but watching videos, playing games or even scrolling through social media either TikTok, Facebook, WhatsApp status or even Snapchat, I have been there before where I get upset when someone disturbs me while am using my phone or where I can comfortably watch movies for hours or even a whole day without asking for food or where I even chat during the late hours in the night because as we well know it gets sweeter late in the night and before I know it it's already morning.

I have encountered myself oooh let me start from here because back then whenever my phone has issues and it has to sleep over with the person repairing I use to feel a heavy weight and I would be so unsettled because my phone is not with me, it even got to the extent where I call my phone "my baby" my first take on the remedy is maturity, omoh when you grow beyond all those things you will get to understand that you were just wasting your time and investment in all those things you thought matters, you would begin to see them as less important, then I think another remedy is getting busy with relevant things and you would see that you will no longer dedicate your whole self to your phone again because like for me what drastically reduced my phone addiction where I watched movies like mad was when I resumed schooling in the university, I unconsciously started drifting my attention on watching movies, even chatting or watching reels online to attending lectures, studying everyday, going for activities in Church like practices and all those things in school.
But I have seen the negative effects of phone addiction on mental health for example a school mate of mine back then in secondary school who was so addicted to her phone one day got mentally unstable after watching something online or probably clicking on a link online, we can't say because we weren't there with her but she became mentally unstable which you might call mad, other effects is that addiction to phones can affect your sleeping and also your mood, it can cut you off from interaction with reality.
Phone addiction doesn't just start in a day but gradually so please mind your usage of phones. It's my pleasure being your host, much love from this side 😘.
