Nose si a alguien se le habrá ocurrido tejer esto alguna vez...o soy yo la de las ideas locas, jaja. Cuando les hablo y les muestro a la gente sobre este proyecto, todos se identifican y reconocen que son animalitos nativos de aquí. Y que su calidad de hilados son de excelente calidad.

I don't know if anyone has ever thought of weaving this before. Or maybe I'm the one with the crazy ideas, jaja. When I talk to people and show them this project, they all identify with it and recognize that these are animals native to this area. And that their yarns are of excellent quality.

Es como si parte de ellos, muy en lo profundo, amasen sus raíces, sus orígenes... Por otro lado, siguen dando prioridad a las costumbres impuestas, comenzando desde el idioma. Esto, junto a la rutina de las actividades diarias y el entorno consumista, mantienen vigente esa confusión que alguna vez tuvimos mis abuelos, mis padres y yo.

It's as if part of them, deep down, loves their roots, their origins... On the other side, they continue to prioritize imposed customs, starting with language. This, together with the routine of daily activities and the consumerist environment, keeps alive the confusion that my grandparents, my parents, and I once had.

That is why this project is designed to highlight what we truly value. In a previous post click here, we looked at the prices in detail for these Alpaca and Vicuña yarns.

Ahora tocó tejer las Alpacas con hilo de Alpaca y las Vicuñas con hilo de Vicuña. Este último, aún no lo hago. Cuando lo teja, te lo mostraré por aquí. Lo que sí estoy haciendo es tejerlo con hilo de algodón.

Now it's time to crochet the Alpacas with Alpaca yarn and the Vicuñas with Vicuña yarn. I haven't done the latter yet. When I crochet it, I'll show it to you here. What I am doing is crocheting it with cotton yarn.

Ya estoy avanzando con el patrón de esta Vicuñita. Si todo sale bien, estaría para noviembre. Por el momento estoy probando tejerlo con distintos crochet, para ver el tamaño de los ojos. Esto lo hago porque el hilo de vicuña es realmente fino y delgadito.

I'm already making progress with the pattern for this Vicuñita. If all goes well, it should be ready by November. At the moment, I'm trying out different crochet hooks to see what size the eyes will be. I do this because vicuña yarn is really fine and slim.

Estos llaveros los estoy tejiendo para ofrecerlo al público en Ferias, espero. Para esto, voy a estar atenta a las convocatorias. Como artesana de Perú, es complicado acceder a una Feria, ya sea local o distrital. He visto quienes tienen cooperativas o son Asociaciones tienen ventajas en este rubro. Espero algún día pertenecer allí.

I am crocheting these key chains to sell them at fairs, I hope. To do this, I will keep an eye out for calls for entries. As a artisan in Peru, it is difficult to gain access to a fair, whether local or district. I have seen that those who have cooperatives or associations have advantages in this area. I hope to belong there someday.

Volviendo a mi realidad, jaja. Sigo haciendo lo que me encanta y eso es dibujar, experimentar tejiendo, sacar los patrones y seguir creando personajes que nos recuerden la importancia de las cosas/acciones importantes y valiosas del pasado y presente. Muchas gracias por leerme.
