NEEDLEWORKMONDAY-Temporada de topcitos [Tops season]

Mis clases al fin acabaron, fue un cuatrimestre durísimo, pero estoy de vuelta needleworkers, realmente no me sobraba nada de tiempo, todo mi tiempo libre se iba a leer y realizar mis tareas, además como solo tengo un día libre a la semana coordinar todo se hace muy difícil, de hecho, ahora vuelvo a recuperar mi tiempo libre, al menos por un tiempo ya que cursare en verano también para adelantar. El verano está a la vuelta de la esquina y es momento de renovar algunas prendas de mi guardarropa y mi top preferido volverá a suceder.

My classes are finally over! It was a really tough semester, but I'm back, needleworkers! I really didn't have any free time; all my free time was spent reading and doing assignments. Plus, since I only have one day off a week, coordinating everything is really difficult. In fact, now I'm getting my free time back, at least for a while, since I'll also be taking summer classes to get ahead. Summer is just around the corner, and it's time to update some of my wardrobe pieces, and my favorite top will be making a comeback.

Copie el molde directo a la tela y ese fue la base para hacer los demás, ya que tengo varias telas de colores que quería usar, pero en este caso son todas muy diferentes así que hay algunas pequeñas modificaciones en casa uno según la tela, esto es añadirle un poco más del ancho para que no quede tan ajustado.

I copied the pattern directly onto the fabric and that was the basis for making the others, since I have several colored fabrics that I wanted to use, but in this case they are all very different so there are some small modifications in each one depending on the fabric, this is adding a little more width so that it is not so tight.

El primero que corté es en tela verde, tengo un nuevo celular y captar los colores está siendo difícil, pero es un verde un poco las oscuro que lo que se ve ahí, esta tela es muy elástica, pero muchísimo, así que simplemente lo copié igual al top original, solo le añadí margen de costura que será con overlock.

The first one I cut is in green fabric. I have a new cell phone and capturing the colors is proving difficult, but it's a slightly darker green than what you see there. This fabric is very stretchy, extremely so, so I simply copied it exactly as the original top, only adding a seam allowance which will be overlocked.

Corte la base y 3 tiras, una es el cuello y las otras dos son para terminación de las sisas.

Cut the base and 3 strips, one is the neck and the other two are for finishing the armholes.

Para los otros dos use la misma base, porque este top me gusta mucho, lo tenía solo en color negro, pero ahora estará en verde, gris y celeste, los colores salen algo raros, pero debo aprender a configurar bien mi cámara del teléfono, pero si tendré mejor calidad.

For the other two, I used the same base, because I really like this top. I only had it in black, but now it will be in green, gray, and light blue. The colors come out a bit strange, but I need to learn how to properly configure my phone's camera, but I will have better quality.

Para coser estos tops voy a usar mi máquina overlock aunque tengo la máquina con color negro y blanco jajaja aún no fui a comprar hilos, y con la compra de mi nuevo teléfono todos mis recursos están puestos ahí, aunque como ya no estoy cursando también voy a gastar un poco menos de dinero.

To sew these tops I'm going to use my overlock machine even though I have the machine with black and white thread hahaha I haven't gone to buy thread yet, and with the purchase of my new phone all my resources are focused there, although since I'm no longer taking classes I'm also going to spend a little less money.

Las costuras son bastante simples, lo complicado son las terminaciones ya que tengo solo mi máquina recta para hacerlo, pero esta vez voy a hacer nuevos trucos con puntadas decorativas y veremos como sale eso.

The seams are quite simple; the finishing touches are complicated since I only have my straight stitch machine to do it, but this time I'm going to try new tricks with decorative stitches and we'll see how that turns out.

Empecé por el top en tono celeste, el color es bastante más apagado, probé hacerle fotos a la tela varias veces y con un filtro esta fue la más cercana al color, pero logre hacer una buena foto del color que se las dejare al final.

I started with the light blue top; the color is quite a bit more muted. I tried taking pictures of the fabric several times, and with a filter, this was the closest to the color, but I managed to take a good picture of the color, which I will leave at the end.

Esta tela es circular, y justo el ancho del top coincidía con el ancho de la tela, así que no tiene tantas costuras, solo de hombros y de terminación así que primero cosí los hombros.

This fabric is circular, and the width of the top just matched the width of the fabric, so it doesn't have that many seams, just shoulder and hem seams, so I sewed the shoulders first.

Hice una costura de unión desde afuera y voltee la pieza pisando con una puntada decorativa, lo ideal sería tener elástico partido de cada color de la tela o una máquina collareta, pero no cuento con ninguno de estos.

I made a joining seam from the outside and turned the piece over, pressing it with a decorative stitch. Ideally, I would have elastic split in each color of the fabric or a coverstitch machine, but I don't have either of these.

El ruedo tiene una tira que cosí del frente, voltee y pise, en esta tela quedo como si fueran volados, no era la idea, pero no me desagrada como quedo al final.

The hem has a strip that I sewed from the front, turned over and pinned; in this fabric it looks like ruffles, which wasn't the idea, but I don't dislike how it turned out in the end.

Las sisas quedaron bastante bien, aunque la tela se estiraba muchísimo, el cuello se desboco y bastante, por más que no quisiera la tela se estiraba por que el pie de maquina hacía mucha presión y no recordaba como hacer este cambio.

The armholes turned out quite well, although the fabric stretched a lot, the collar stretched out quite a bit, no matter how much I didn't want the fabric to stretch because the machine foot was putting a lot of pressure and I didn't remember how to make this change.

Estoy haciendo cambios nuevos en mi forma de vestir, así que verán que ahora voy a hacer más prendas en colores y estampados, tengo muchas prendas que quiero renovar así que voy a volver a trabajar en diferentes prendas y cosas nuevas que necesito, pero eso será en otra ocasión.

I'm making some new changes to my style, so you'll see that I'm going to be making more clothes in different colors and prints. I have a lot of clothes that I want to update, so I'm going to work on different clothes and new things that I need, but that will be another time.
