Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

For this week's Community Engagement Challenge, were gonna talk about Thanksgiving and although, we do not really celebrate that from where I live, I think it was a great celebration where people find things that they can be thankful about, not to mention, having a feast along with people close to you. So, I think it's a good thing pause a little from my usual strategy and review post and take some time to think of the things in the game that I want to be thankful for. Well, there's a lot now that I think of it, but I will try it to make it the same length as my usual post.

Full Respect to The Team

It's been already 4 years now, since I first started playing Splinterlands, and through that time, the game has undergone a lot of change including the gameplay and mechanics, but were still able to remain from its original roots as a auto-battler card game. Some of these changes may not sit well for other players, and there are valid criticisms in some of their decisions, which can sometimes go very heated, but instead of dismissing those critics, they always listen to player's feedback and tries to find ways to make the game better while the continue building the best game they can provide.
At the same time, I think with all the years that I'm here, 2025 was the year that they made most of the game improvements. From new game modes, to new mechanics and how they can meaningfully reward player's participation in the game with the new reward cards and jackpot prizes. But I think that the biggest thing that they done this year was to provide a place where Free-to-play players can participate without any investment, where they can earn cards and use it to earn, which is to say that they are not only catering to whales or old players, but also for new players.

Grateful to the Community

For every game around whether its a Web3 game or not, having a strong community is very important to survive, and I think while small, Splinterlands has a very passionate community and I think the best example of that is the recent Splinterlands Grand Prix, where the community bonded together to support the guest influencers with card and SPS delegations, coaching and supporting them through streams. And it's not as if they did it only because they were influencers, they also do it when a new player comes and teach the ropes to the game until they can stand in their own. Even I when I first started to the game received some help from other players, that helps me to stay this long to the game, whether it was from my guild or through giveaways.
The community's passion does not end there because you can see how many players are vocal with their love to the game by making content not only here on Hive, but also across other platforms, which of course can take a lot of time, so I was grateful for the community for sharing their passion to the game so that it can reach more people.

MVP Archon and Unit

With modern right now, I think that my MVP archon and units goes to Elias Max Pruitt, Silverblade Fighter and Commander Slade. It's not just because they give me good win rate but because I like how these 3 cards synergizes with one another and that it does not rely on many tricks, just its raw power to obliterate the opponent team.

Grateful to Hive
Of course, when we talk about what to be thankful for in Splinterlands, we should not forget about Hive that gives Splinterlands a place as a web3 game and by helping it with funds during the time that they are in a difficult situation. It is also through hive that I was able to write my post and engage with other Splinterlands players. I also just celebrate my 4th year into the chain which tells how long I am here as a Splinterlands Player.

Closing
And those were the things that I was grateful for being a Splinterlands player that plays the game everyday. For everyone else celebrating Thanksgiving, I hope that a good time whether it was in the combat arena or in real life.
Thank you, and see you on the next post!
