This week, I was once again in the city center with my wife, who was buying some necessary items for the house and for use at church, and I took the opportunity to take some pictures of some places I passed by while waiting for my wife.

I parked the car near Whonsiedler Square on Carrera 16 and walked around the square and its surroundings to capture the images I am sharing with you.

I didn't actually walk very far because it was almost noon and the heat was scorching, plus the traffic at that time of day is quite heavy.

I started taking pictures of the square with its bust in honor of Juan Pablo Whonsiedler, a very famous religious figure and educator who stood out in the city as the founder of a school in Barquisimeto.

It is a small square but with large trees that provide good shade over the benches where people rest from their walks. Its perimeter walls are decorated with beautiful murals depicting religious images.

It is located right in front of the Church of Peace, a beautiful Catholic temple, built quite some time ago, which stands imposingly in the area, displaying its Gothic façade, impressive for its beauty and elegant forms in the bell towers and central nave.

The sky was very clear and cloudless, and the heat was noticeable even in the shade. However, there were many people walking through the square and entering and leaving the temple. Passersby usually enter the temple to pray or meditate, to recharge their batteries, and then continue on their way.

All the streets surrounding the square and the temple were packed with vehicles. On either side, there are beautiful colonial-style buildings and several apartment buildings.

There are several schools in the area, and at that time of day, parents and guardians come to pick up their children, which increases traffic on the streets.

Caluroso paseo de los miércoles por el centro de la ciudad

Saludos estimados amigos amantes de las caminatas de los miércoles en @wednesdaywalk, espero que este día sea de provecho y bendecido para todos ustedes.

Esta semana estuve una vez más por el casco central de la ciudad, junto a mi esposa que estaba comprando algunas cosas necesarias para la casa y para usar en la iglesia y aproveché la oportunidad para tomar algunas fotografías de algunos lugares por donde pasé, mientras esperaba a mi esposa.

Estacioné el carro cerca de la plaza Whonsiedler por la carrera 16, y caminé por la plaza y sus alrededores para captar las imágenes que les traigo.

En realidad no caminé mucho porque era casi mediodía y el calor estaba abrasador, además el tráfico a esa hora es bastante pesado.

Comencé a fotografiar la plaza con su busto en honor a Juan Pablo Whonsiedler, un religioso y educador muy célebre que se destacó en la ciudad al ser fundador de un colegio de Barquisimeto.

Es una plaza pequeña pero con grandes árboles que brindan buena sombra sobre las bancas que la gente aprovecha para descansar de sus caminatas y está adornada en sus paredes perimetrales por bonitos murales, que muestran imágenes de tipo religioso.

Está ubicada justo en frente de la iglesia de la paz, un hermoso templo católico, construido hace bastante tiempo que se levanta imponente en la zona mostrando su fachada de arte gótico que impresiona por su belleza y sus elegantes formas en los campanarios y nave central.

El cielo estaba muy claro y despejado y el calor se hacia sentir aún estando a la sombra. Sin embargo, se veía mucha gente a pie transitando por la plaza y entrando y saliendo del templo. Normalmente los transeúntes entran al templo a rezar o meditar, para recargar fuerzas y luego continúan su camino.

Todas las calles que rodean la plaza y el templo estaban repletas de vehículos. A los lados se aprecian hermosas construcciones de tipo colonial y también varios edificios de apartamentos.

En la zona existen varios colegios que a esa hora reciben la visita de los padres y representantes que acuden a retirar a sus hijos, lo cual favorece al aumento del tránsito vehicular por sus calles.
