Sharing a new drawing day, and I think it’s a good moment, especially if this is your first time visiting or stumbling upon my blog, to offer a bit of explanation.
This blog is my artistic journey: my mistakes and successes in pursuit of one of my biggest dreams, learning to paint.
I also share finished drawings, but the main goal here is to document learning processes, experiments, and studies.
I’m just starting out, though I do have some experience and can create slightly more polished pieces.
But in this space, we’re here to learn and share the practices and processes behind each drawing.
Well, with a bit of my lore out of the way, let’s begin.
My drawing session today actually stretched to almost three full hours, haha.
Compartiendo un nuevo día de dibujo, y creo que es oportuno, por si es la primera vez que entras o te topas con mi blog, hacer un poco de explicaciones.
Este blog es mi viaje artístico: mis errores y aciertos para cumplir uno de mis grandes sueños, aprender a pintar.
Comparto dibujos finalizados también, pero el objetivo es sobre todo compartir procesos de aprendizaje, ensayos y estudios.
Estoy empezando, aunque sí tengo cierta experiencia y puedo hacer piezas un poco mejores.
Pero aquí, en este espacio, estamos para aprender y compartir los procesos y las prácticas que hay detrás de un dibujo.
Bueno, con un poco de mi lore comenzamos.
Mi hora de dibujo del día de hoy, la verdad, se extendió a casi 3 horas completas jajaja.
Today I wanted to make a complete drawing and I wanted to use colored pencils. Even though neither my paper nor the pencils are high quality, I know that with persistence and time you can achieve a beautiful result. A few days ago I saw a reference of an egg on Pinterest—a very lovely photograph—and it inspired this drawing. So without hesitation I made a small sketch of what I wanted.
Hoy quería hacer un dibujo completo y quería usar lápices de colores. Y aunque mi papel ni los colores son de buena calidad, sí sé que con tesón y tiempo se puede tener un resultado bonito. Hacía días había visto esta referencia de un huevo en Pinterest, una fotografía muy linda, y me sirvió de inspiración para este dibujo. Así que sin más hice un pequeño boceto de lo que quería.
Well, after an hour—and after making the black pencil suffer—I have my drawing ready. Despite using school-grade colored pencils and office paper, I think I got a good result. I liked achieving the transparency effect in the egg white areas and the colors of the yolk. Also, the contrast with the black background, which I had to layer several times, turned out acceptable. The black wasn’t very strong, honestly, even lighter than my HB pencil. I’m sharing a photo of my desk with the drawing.
Bueno, después de una hora, y de hacer sufrir al color negro, tengo mi dibujo listo. A pesar de ser colores escolares y papel de oficina, creo que obtuve un buen resultado. Me gustó que logré hacer el efecto de transparencia en zonas de la clara y los colores de la yema. Además, el contraste del fondo negro, al que tuve que dar varias capas, quedó aceptable. El color no era muy fuerte, la verdad, incluso más claro que mi lápiz HB. Les comparto una foto de mi mesa con el dibujo.

Since I still had some free time, I decided to tackle one of the tasks I had set aside to continue studying the human figure. And yes, even though I’m learning in a self-taught way, I think it’s important to assign yourself small tasks. I had planned to do 10 poses, so I went to the website sketchdaily.net, which has a very useful pose practice tool. The idea was to draw 10 poses—I ended up doing twelve. First with a 15-minute timer, then 10, and finally 5, trying to simplify as much as possible and capture the dynamism of each pose.
Como seguía con tiempo libre, decidí ponerme a hacer una de las tareas que me había dejado para continuar con el estudio de la figura humana. Y es que sí, aunque esté aprendiendo de forma autodidacta, creo que es importante ponerse pequeñas tareas. Me había propuesto hacer 10 poses, para eso fui al sitio web sketchdaily.net, que tiene una herramienta para practicar poses muy útiles. La idea era hacer 10 poses, terminé haciendo doce. Primero con un tiempo de 15 minutos, después de 10 y después de 5, tratando de sintetizar lo más posible y capturar el dinamismo en la pose.
