Hello everyone, I’m Jhoanna. I wouldn’t call myself a writer in the traditional sense because writing isn’t something I do every day, nor do I always carry a notebook around or chase after perfect sentences. But every so often, something stirs inside me, a feeling, a fleeting thought, a moment too full to hold and I find myself needing to put it into words. It doesn’t happen all the time, but when it does, it feels like magic, like everything suddenly makes sense through the rhythm of a sentence or the shape of a story. I’m not always reaching for the pen, but when I do, it’s because something real needs to be expressed. There’s a kind of beauty in capturing a moment as it passes, turning it into something lasting. Writing, for me, is spontaneous and emotional, a quiet release, a way to turn confusion into clarity or solitude into something shared. I may not always write, but when I do, it feels like I’m pouring parts of myself onto the page and not to impress, but to connect. To make sense of what I feel, and maybe to let someone else know they’re not alone.
As far back as I can remember, stories have shaped my worldview. From childhood diaries filled with imaginary friends to adolescent poems full of raw, unfiltered emotion, writing has been my safe place, my playground, and sometimes even my therapy. It helped me make sense of things that felt too big for words, until I found the right words.
But writing isn’t just something I do when inspiration strikes. It’s a commitment I’ve made to myself. I write because I believe there are truths best discovered through storytelling and because, deep down, I know that someone out there might need the exact words I’m afraid to say. I’m also fond of capturing moments with simple words, those quiet, fleeting details that often go unnoticed. Whether it’s the warmth of morning light spilling through a window or the unspoken bond in a shared glance, I find meaning in the ordinary. Writing and capturing allows me to hold on to these moments and give them the attention they deserve.
What drives me to write isn’t just the thrill of finishing a piece though, let’s be honest, that feeling is unbeatable. It’s the process itself. The way an idea starts as a flicker in the mind and, with enough nurturing, becomes something that can move people. I live for those moments when a character says something I didn’t expect, when a metaphor stumbles into place, when a reader says, “I felt that.”
My passion extends beyond fiction and poetry. I’m equally drawn to exploring the deeper side of life — psychology, emotional intelligence, personal growth, and the quiet beauty of being human.
I write to ask questions, to explore the messiness of life, and to find meaning in both the joyful and painful moments.
Sometimes, I write to heal. Other times, I write to spark change or to start a conversation. Writing has always helped me navigate life’s chaos, and it’s given me the courage to confront parts of myself I might otherwise ignore. And that, I think, is the real power of words, they reveal us to ourselves.
So yes, I'm here because I love to write and send a message. I’m here because I believe in sharing that passion, and learning from others who feel the same fire.
I'm also an outgoing person who loves meeting new people and hearing their stories. I find it easy to connect with others, which helps me because every conversation can spark a new idea or give me a fresh perspective. I enjoy sharing my thoughts and listening to different voices, it's one of the ways I grow as a person.
I have a friend to thank for this discovery someone who knew I was in search of more than just another social media feed. @whosee knew I was looking for a community, a space where creativity is not only welcomed but celebrated. He told me about Hive with a spark in his eye, like they were letting me in on a secret too good to keep. At first, I was skeptical. Could a platform really offer genuine connection in an age of endless scrolling and shrinking attention spans? But the more I explored, the more I realized Hive is different. It’s built around ideas, stories, and people who care. It's not aboit chasing likes, it's about finding your people. That simple recommendation from a friend turned out to be the push I needed.
After deciding to join, we were guided orientation led by Miss @jeannmazing, who patiently walked us through what to do and how everything works. And now, here I am, ready to plant my flag, wisdom and knowledge in this creative corner of internet. I didn't come here just to post, I came to connect. I want my presence here to be more than just a portfolio of words. I want it to feel like a conversation, like a creative exchange, like something that adds value to your scroll.
Here what you'll find in my space:
✨ Writings that speaks from the soul
✨Reflections on life, growth and mental wellness
And I'll be just as active in reading and supporting others. I believe in collaboration over competition, and I'm here to learn as much as I'm here to share. If even one post of mine makes someone feel seen, inspired, or simply less alone, I'll consider that a success.
Joining Hive feels like the start of something fresh, a new chapter, a new community, a new place to let creativity breathe. I know it takes courage to put your work out there, to say, "This is me." But I also know that when writers, artists, and thinkers come together, powerful things happen. So if you're reading this, thank you for being part of the beginning. I can't wait to read your words, celebrate your stories, and grow with this incredible hive of creators. Here's to showing up. To sharing. To finding and being your people.
Let the writing begin .🖋️✨

Welcome to Hive, Jhoanna! 🥰🥰 Grabe, murag ako ang napasulat balik pagkahuman nako basa sa imong post. Ang poetic start? Pang-teleserye intro jud! “Every writer has a story before the story”—hala oi, ka nice. 😂😂 Btw, your words hit deep. I can feel the sincerity, the hugot, and the gugma sa grammar charot 😆. You don't just write, you breathe life into words. Murag ka'g si Dora the Explorer pero instead of a backpack, you carry emotional baggage nga creative kaayo pagka-express.
Also, thanks to your friend @whosee as well, for inspiring you to join Hive! Have fun Hiving. I hope you'll stay for a long longgg time here in Hive, @midnightspen. 🫶🏻🫶🏻 Welcomeeee! 💗

Hello @midnightspen!
Welcome to Hive. I don't think you should do the things you have mentioned about being a writer to be a writer. I think it is in the mind. You don't need to search for perfect word combination or perfect rhyme. For me, if it is on your mind and you are breathing like you are running a marathon while writing, you are a writer. Cannot wait for more.
I invite you to explore other communities you might like that are part of the OCD Communities Incubation Program. Check out all the communities, read their rules and post in the one that fits your content.
