Today I would like to share another interesting figurine inspired by a peculiar character from the well-known game Splinterlands, from our beloved Hive blockchain. It is a card battle game, each card is a character, and they are all very peculiar and colorful.

Well, the character that inspired me to make my figurine is one called “Sand Worm.” You can see a reference photo of that card in the image below.

Saludos amigos, sean bienvenidos a otra publicación en mi blog. Hoy me gustaría compartir otra figurita un poco interesante inspirada en un personaje peculiar del muy conocido juego splinterlands, de nuestra querida blockchain Hive. Es un juego de batallas con cartas, cada carta es un personaje y todos son muy peculiares y pintorescos.

Pues bien, el personaje en el que me inspiré para hacer a mi figurita es uno llamado "Sand Worm". Pueden ver en la imagen de abajo una foto de referencia de esa carta.

Well, I made the character as similar as possible, trying to maintain the resemblance to the original character. You can see in the image below that I tried to preserve his features, always considering that it is a plasticine figurine that I made, a figurine no more than 10 centimeters tall. The final result can be seen not only in the cover photo but also in the image below. I invite you to join me in the creative process of making the figurine.

Pues bien, el personaje lo hice lo más parecido posible, tratando de mantener la semejanza al personaje original. Pueden ver en la imagen de abajo que traté de conservar sus rasgos, considerando siempre que es una figurita con plastilina la que hice, una figurita de no más de 10 centímetros. El resultado final se aprecia no solo en la foto de portada sino también en la imagen a continuación. Los invito a acompañarme en el proceso creativo de la figurita.

Step by step

The materials I used to make the figurine were as follows:

• Plasticine
• Wire
• Glue

I started with the character's body, which I made with light-colored plasticine. I made the shape shown in the image on the left, a cylindrical shape with a flat part at the bottom. Then, I placed some red plasticine spots on this same shape and blended them around the edges to create the effect you see in the image on the right.

Paso a paso

Los materiales que utilicé para hacer la figurita fueron los siguientes:

• Plastilina
• Alambre
• Pegamento

Comencé con el cuerpo del personaje, el cual hice con plastilina color piel clara. Hice la forma que se aprecia en la imagen de la izquierda, una forma cilíndrica con una parte chata en el área inferior. Luego, a esta misma forma le coloqué unas manchas de plastilina de color roja y las difuminé en los alrededores para crear ese efecto que ven en la imagen de la derecha.

I continued with other parts of the body, which, being a worm, is simply that, a worm. I made two flattened circles in a skin color but darker than the one I had used previously. I did this by mixing the previous color with a little red and brown, obtaining the color you see in the image on the left.

I placed both pieces on top of the part of the body I had made before. At this point, I added a small piece of wire so that all the pieces could be held together, using a little glue to strengthen the joints.

Continué con otros elementos del cuerpo, que al ser un gusano simplemente es así, un gusano. Hice dos círculos aplastado de un color piel pero más oscuro que el que había usado anteriormente, esto lo hice mezclando el anterior con un poco de rojo y marrón, obteniendo el color que ven en la imagen de la izquierda.

Ambas piezas las coloqué encima de la parte del cuerpo que había hecho antes. Ya en este punto le coloqué un trocito de alambre para que todas las piezas se pudieran mantener unidas una con la otra, valiéndome de un poco de pegamento para fortalecer las uniones.

After this, I continued with the most important part of the character, the mouth. The first thing I did was make a circle out of dark brown plasticine. I made a hole in the center of this circle, with four points at the four cardinal points of the shape, as you can see in the image on the right.

Después de esto continué con la parte más importante del personaje, la boca. Lo primero que hice fue hacer un círculo de plastilina color marrón intenso, a este círculo le hice un agujero en el centro, con cuatro puntas en los cuatro puntos cardinales de la forma, tal como pueden observarlo en la imagen de la derecha.

I placed this piece on top of the two pieces I had made before. I put red plasticine in the hole I had made and, with the help of a knitting needle, I began to deepen this hole so that the red color would cover the walls of the hole I had made, which is nothing more than the character's mouth.

Also, as can be seen in the images, I made some lines in the brown area to create some texture in the character's mouth.

Esta pieza la coloqué encima de las dos piezas que había hecho antes. Justo en el agujero que hice le coloqué plastilina de color rojo y con ayuda de una aguja de tejer comencé a profundizar en este agujero, de manera que fuese el color rojo el que cubriese las paredes del agujero que había hecho, que no es más que la boca del personaje.

También, como se aprecia en las imágenes, hice algunas líneas en el área marrón para crear cierta textura en la boca del personaje.

I used white modeling clay to make the worm's four sharp teeth. I used glue and even smaller pieces of wire to hold them in place. That way, they stayed in place and the mouth was practically finished.

Con plastilina de color blanco hice los filosos cuatro dientes que tiene el gusano. Usé pegamento y trocitos aún más pequeños de alambre para mantenerlos en su lugar. Así quedaron fijos y la boca prácticamente quedó terminada.

Only one small detail, or rather a bunch of small details, were missing. If you look at the reference image, you can see that it has lots of small teeth in its throat, so I used a needle to paint tiny white dots along the red plasticine walls, as you can see in the image below.

Solo faltaba un pequeño detalle o un montón de pequeños detalles. Si observan la imagen de referencia, se pueden dar cuenta que este tiene un montón de dientes pequeños en la garganta, así que con una aguja pinté diminutos puntos de color blanco a lo largo de las paredes rojas de plastilina, tal como pueden ver en la imagen de abajo.

And that's how the figurine was finished. Below you can see a series of photographs of the final result:
