This last season in Moonkarts, I placed 29th in the ranked leaderboard, earning 1519 Colony. And I got 2 colony in the orbital leaderboard, at least it wasn't 0 :D. So in total I claimed 1521 colony, I know it's not much, but I'm sure I will get a better position this season as I will improve my car even more.
I decided to stake more colony tokens, because I didn't really know that colony tokens were earned in each race, I though you only received colony rewards at the end of each season. Now that I know, I will stake more, of course, you can decide not to stake colony, but in that case the earnings are minimal.
The table below shows the number of colony tokens you need to stake to earn more. For example, if I have a rating of 1200 and I want a 12x multiplier, I would need to stake around 10,000 colony tokens.

I staked the colony tokens I earned this season and I will stake more to earn even more colony by playing. I now have 2,723 colony tokens staked, not much, but I will buy more in the hive engine.
In this race, the opponent's car was much faster than mine, I assume their car has a higher level or some tech cards equipped that increase its speed. As the race started, the opponent' car used its celestial power up, and I lose sight of their car. My car no longer has problems taking curves, but it still needs more speed.
I currently have a staking colony multiplier of 6.84x. I collected 4 orbitals and colonies on the race, so I got a reward of 0.62 colony, not much, but at least something for now.
Another defeat, but at least I'm now in the pos 17 and got a few more of colony tokens. I will try to get a better position in the leaderboard.
I also claimed the fuel generated by my epic cards in the auto vault, 52.1 fuel. I will have to stake more cards or buy fuel if I want to play more, since the fuel my current cards generate isn't enough.
I will buy more colony tokens on hive engine to stake them, so I can have much more colony earnings. And I will buy some tech cards to improve the speed of my car. That's all for now guys, take care :D
