Audio & Video? Yes Please!

O.K., I admit...

I've only been poking around @snapie for over a week. And when I first joined I heard @meno talk about new features that were going to be released on the iOS version soon. I didn't expect 'soon' to be now...

And while I'm not if these have been active on the Android app for longer, just seeing these and testing them over the past few days has been such an awesome experience.

First, let's take a look at the feature I just tested about....10 minutes ago!

Audio Clips

So there is a small note about this, apparently there is a bug and it's going ot be fixed on the next update....But for me, the upload and playback of audio clips worked fine for me.

And it was crazy simple to use...Once again, all from a mobile phone environment.

1. Simply click on the top of your app and start a normal snap.

2. Next, find the microphone icon on the right side and click it.

3. Press record and let your voice be heard!

4. Click use audio and create your snap!

That's it!

Crazy simple and as far as I can tell from this first audio snap, it worked perfectly. Someone will have to confirm or share with me how the experience is on Android, but I'm guessing it's pretty much similar.

And now for the big one....

Shorts on Snapie

O.k., when I first heard of @threespeak shorts I was absolutely taken with them! The potential of short form VIDEO content on chain is just, the no brainer of no brainers. And this is the content that can really change Hive for the better. Because think about web 2...

It's YouTube shorts. It's Instagram videos. It's TikTok clips.

It's bite sized pieces of video content. And we had the perfect platform to upload these short videos and get them on chain...That was 3speak!

And it looks like they have nailed it.

You have options on how to produce and present your content to the blockchain...

1. You first once again, go to create a Snap like normal.

2. Then you click on the video camera icon to set up your short.

3. You then get the option to upload from your photo library or even record a live video. (I have used both options and they work flawlessly!)

4. 3speak then takes like a minute or two, depending on how long your video is, to upload your short and presto!

Your first short has been uploaded for all to see!

So at first glance, these seem like features that have been on traditional social media for years. And they have. And this is why people consume bite sized pieces of content at a rapid pace. But here on chain...It's been a long time coming.

This is the kind of things (content) that get shared. This is the kind of content that the masses will engage with.

Now it's just up to us, the people within this blockchain community, to actually use this stuff each and every day.
