For my Saturday carb cheat I turned to a local deli and, as is my practice when trying out a new delicatessen, I had the Reuben. For me it is the quintessential sandwich and one of my top 5 comfort foods.
Now, of the competing Reuben origin stories, I prefer the one about the Omaha grocer who invented it to feed his poker buddies. Well done Omaha Reuben, your sammy’s aces!
I had to look up the Reuben. I expect you can get it somewhere over here. I actually had a toasted sandwich this evening, but without meat.
