Who: Mr. Crichton was the author of numerous critical titles, many with a focus on technology. He is best known for writing Jurassic Park.
What: Michael Crichton's interviews from the early nineties and late nineties are astonishingly prescient and full of wisdom.
Highlights:

  • Humanity, as a species, is on the decline
  • Diversity of ideas is required for survival of the species, something that technology has narrowed rapidly
  • Young people would be doing astonishing things (from his vantage point in 90s) with technology with great ease (see todays ai tools)
  • Nanotechnology wouldn't be a concern for a while, according to his look on the future (he was incorrect on this one, as nanotech vaccinations took place just 20 years later preceded by years of chemspray of the ingredients needed for an ecosystem of nanites in biological systems - also see leak on ETH regarding humans without will controlled by nanite injections at high fin firms).
  • He didn't mention health and attention in general becoming extremely poor in future, though he should have been able to see this based on his knowledge of bio tech

Sort:

Crichton is clearly able to connect dots far into the future.

Thanks!
