The weight of others expectations

in #freewrite2 months ago (edited)

Have you ever noticed how some people who've faced hardships seem to want others to experience similar struggles? It's as if they're driven by a desire to validate their own experiences by making others go through the same thing. This behavior can be exhausting, especially when it feels like they're trying to impose their opinions on you.

Trying to please everyone is a recipe for stress and anxiety, because when you prioritize others' opinions over your own needs and desires, you can lose yourself in the process. It's liberating to recognize that you can't control how others think or feel, and that it's okay to set boundaries and make choices that work for you.

The Power of Individuality;Let's normalize allowing people to make their own choices and decisions. When we do this, we create space for growth, learning, and self-discovery. Of course, we can offer advice and support, but ultimately, it's up to each individual to decide what's best for themselves.

Life is already complex and challenging; let's not make it more complicated by trying to control others or seeking validation from them. By embracing individuality and respecting each other's differences, we can create a more supportive and inclusive environment. So, let's focus on being our authentic selves and letting others do the same.

Sometimes I wonder why some people would want to impose their ideology and principles on others and when you refuse, they term you stubborn and ingrate.

I made a thread this morning saying; "Well, if sticking to my principles and values, prioritizing self care and minding my business is being stubborn, then Imma own it with full chest. 😂
Let them continue to cry, I don't give a heck."

Honestly
Prioritize your self care and just worry less about what others think
Call me stubborn no problem 🤣🤣🤣

Giving unsolicited advice and making sure that the advice is implemented is really annoying.
Because some people give advice from their own trauma and injured heart.
In all, just do you.

Exactly just do you unapologetically
