unknown beetle (huge, but friendly)

Why is there a plastic pigeon in the first image; to scare off the ravenous bugs?

...It's a plastic raven to scare away the pigeons 😅

Or was this a joke that went over my head?

Looks very pigeon-like from the rear view, and I have seen more than my fair share of 'em! It could encourage more to visit?

Pigeons not only visit but reside in the garden.
And other birds, too.
Problem is, when they start pulling out the fresh shoots and sprouts.
That's why after seeding, I move the plastic raven close.

Okay okay looking steady! The soil looks like the sahara desert but the plants dont seem to be bothered, good job on the watering I guess!

Good food!

I have no access to water there.
It's rainwater or die.

I loved the beetle, that metallic green is gorgeous! In the park where I usually go for walks, there are some urban gardens. Almost all of them have pumpkin plants, but they are a little behind schedule. I haven't seen any fruit yet, only flowers.

I would like to see the front of the plastic bird, hehe. Here people usually use old CDs or plastic bottles.

Ok, ok! I'll try to take a picture from the front. If it doesn't fly away 🙃

The pumkin is kinda late, actually.
I'd guess, they are growing a different variety in Spain.

Everything looking good!

I thought that pigeon was actually real

I took me time to know that it is a plastic pigeon, hehehe.
