I guess you can gather from the title that we have a bit of everything happening around here. Orchid things. Life cycle things. Still blooming, starting to fade, and yes even signs of new growth. It is kind of a full house when it comes to orchid activity at the moment.
Side Note - I saw this Orchid Update photo of Pepper and just had to use it as the intro photo. We have been missing this little guy and often (by honest mistake) call Huxley Pepper. They are so much alike.
Still Here:
Our Panchara Delight Vanda is still showing off. She is looking strong and colorful and honestly I think the flowers are holding on a little longer than they did the last time. Of course that is just my gut talking. I would need to scroll back through a good number of photos to confirm, and with time running short these days I am going with the easy answer. A bit of memory and intuition. Either way I will happily enjoy the blooms for as long as she decides to keep them around. Every time I pass by I feel like she is saying yep still here and still fabulous.
Beginning to Leave:
Now on the flip side we are seeing some blooms beginning to bow out. The trio of Phalaenopsis orchids that started blooming all the way back in December are finally beginning to wind down. One flower dropped a few days ago and I have seen this before. It usually means the others will begin to fade soon after. The petals lose a bit of their color then slowly curl and dry. I always feel a little sad but also thankful. These blooms have brought color and beauty through the long stretch of winter. Now the plants get a chance to rest and recover. They have done their job well.
Back Again:
Surprise surprise. Our other Vanda orchid, the Wilas crossed with Dr Anek, is getting ready to bloom again. This one last flowered right around the New Year and I was not expecting anything new this soon. I had been watching a lower bud that seemed to stall out for weeks and then out of nowhere this new bloom stem appeared above it.
And let me just say I am thrilled. The reddish tones of this orchid are striking and I cannot wait to see them again. Always a bit of excitement when something new shows up out of the blue.
And Huxley as Well:
As always our little garden buddy is involved. Huxley has made a habit of stopping by during orchid soakings to give the blooms a gentle sniff. Especially the purple flowers of the Panchara Delight. Like clockwork. He never tries to nibble but I am always watching just in case. Mostly he just wants to be close and check in on what I am doing. Too cute for his own good. His calm curiosity around the orchids makes these quiet moments even more special.
So yes we are still blooming.
Some flowers are getting ready to say goodbye. Others are just about to say hello. And as always there is a little dog nearby making sure not a moment goes unnoticed.
Until next time..
Thank you for swinging by my blog and checking out the post. Have a great day!

I have no luck with house plants.
I guess I am doing something right.. no clue what though. lol
The colour on that Vanda is absolutely amazing!
They call it blue but it really is a shade of purple. Also each time it has bloomed the flowers are slightly different color. Maybe it has something to do with the way I fertilize or what is in our water supply.
It could be. Also amount of light, temperature... I think all that can cause some slight changes.
Looking good! I am happy to say our aloe plant is still alive as well. That toy basket looks a lot like Jovi's. That's still one of the last things we haven't given up yet.
Yes! Your thumb is fading from black back to some color. Great Job!!!
I just took the basket out because Hux has been chewing on it. Not sure why all of a sudden he has taken up interest in it, but put it out of sight for time being. No rush on taking Jovi's toys away. NEVER is fine too.
I have a feeling we will donate most of them but keep a couple that we know were here favorites. Jovi grew out of the chewing on things phase pretty quickly, but she never got tired of licking everything. Our couch used to look like it had been through a carwash when she got anxious!
Oh my gosh you had me laughing over here. That's too funny.
Keeping a few special ones that she loved would be a nice way to keep a few memories.
Oh man, it was horrible. I mean I miss it now, but it was almost an obsession with her. She would just lick and lick and lick. We tried to stop her when she was younger, but I guess we didn't try hard enough.
The Panchara Delight Vanda, she’s truly shining! Sweet Huxley! His gentle little sniffs made me smile 😀 He’s the perfect garden companion, always nearby, always watching.😍
Oh man is he always under foot. I am sure that will change in a year or two when he gets bored with our everyday movements.. for now he is always interested. 😊
Too cute! It’s like having your own little supervisor, always checking in. Pretty sweet having that constant little shadow.😃
Cute for sure.. and somedays a pain when I can't seem to get anything done. hehe
Haha, yes, the cutest kind of chaos! 😅, at least the company’s cute, right?😀
I saw the gray and thought, wait, wrong color! Love the orchid updates and really like the Huxley and toys photo.
I tricked you! lol
I have been missing Molly and Pepper recently. I saw that photo and though it would be nice to honor him.
Huxley loves laying in his pile of toys. He'll sleep for hours at night in that pile.. too cute.
Your orchid is very beautiful, and I like to have that in our home too to add a more life beauty. Your dog also very cute and can be a stress reliever both your orchid and your dog.
You are so very right about that. Plants and pets are a perfect stress reliever.
Thank you for the compliments!
Every person wants their home to be beautiful and have different types of artificial and real flowers everywhere, so you have done all the things there and your life is much more beautiful.
Life is better with the plants. 100% agree. It passes the time, brings joy, and improves our mental health. Win win win.
