Capetown Family at DA Fundraiser

in Silver Bloggers2 months ago (edited)

What a wonderful privilege to see my family attending the DA Fundraiser at Erinvale Golf Course Clubhouse in Somerset West last evening.

Recently Eden, my daughter and I reconnected with family that we hadn't seen in a very long time and some family that we met for the first time. It's been exciting for us.

We had been out at a Wine Farm for lunch and Colleen told us about the DA Dinner. I had introduced her to my cousin who is a very well known artist in South Africa and many other countries where his canvasses hang in hotels in Switzerland and the like. He told me that Clint Eastwood owned two of his paintings - now that's some claim to fame. From Google:

ARTWORK IN HOLLYWOOD MOVIE

In 2009, three of Rossouw’s oil paintings of Cape landscapes were hired from the Cape Gallery to feature as props in a Clint Eastwood’s movie ‘’Invictus’’. After the filming the Gallery confirmed that two of the paintings returned to USA with Mr. Eastwood.

Back to the Fundraiser - I asked for photographs and was very happy to see such lovely photographs that I could use in my blog.

What a beautiful venue

Stunning mountain views

Thank you Roelof for sharing and for sending me your lovely photographs for my blog

Have a look at Roelof's website to see more of his work.

Well done Roelof

Roelof with his brother Leon whom we were also blessed to meet for the first time - another cousin to add to my list so late in life

Looking forward to being back in Capetown in April where we will celebrate Eden's 33rd birthday.

Wow I'm impressed with your cousin's paintings, stunning! What a special occasion that must have been. Beautiful Cape Town, the last outpost, as many of us call it!

Thanks @lizelle - did you look at his website? I love his paintings ❤️
