My Incredible Mother's Day Weekend

My day could not have been better. It kind of started on Friday evening when Ansie came to stay over and we had a girl's night. We had an amazing dinner of nachos and mince followed by a dessert of waffles with caramel "kick ass" - ice cream - not kidding that really is the name of the ice cream.

Saturday morning when we had a lovely family get together in the beautiful home in Somerset West.

We had savouries and milk tart and the most wonderful fellowship - there was not a quiet moment at the table as the conversation flowed freely. Everyone chatted and naturally moved places to chat to someone new.

There were lots of artists around the table and so naturally art came into a lot of the conversations.

Henry and Heather and the girls arrived late afternoon and once again we had time around the table with a delicious fish pie and pumpkin.

After the kids were put to bed we chatted with the fireplace in the background.

Mother's Day came and after handing out some gorgeous Mother's day presents we sat down to a breakfast of scrambled eggs with bacon and tomato. Lee and Kiara also joined us.

Henry and family left and Colleen, Eden and myself set off with Lee and Kiara to visit an amazing wine farm called Rust en Vrede which proved to be everything in it's wonderful name - Rest and Peace

The food was outstanding - Colleen had cooked salmon, Lee, Eden and I had fillet steak and Kiara had the sirloin.

Spoilt and blessed - what an amazing weekend this was full of good times and memories.
