A happy surprise turned into a sad one

The year end holiday season is all about enjoying with family and friends, to take rest, gathering more energy to reset ourselves and to remind ourselves to remember the moments that make life worth waking up. This year I decided to give a surprise visit to my Parents, taking my entire family, so that both my parents and kids will have some niche memoirs of these good times. Usually I often go alone, but these kids visited them after a span of couple of years, so they were equally excited.

My best friend joined us in the ride and on our way, we picked some nice food from a nearby Dhaba as we knew Dad would love that.

The plan was to stay for 4 nights and come back yesterday. As yesterday was my son's birthday, I told him to seek blessings from my Parents and then we come back and go for a Dinner and then prepare for the New Year party. Kid's have their own mindset to enjoy their day, but balancing the equilibrium to spend the day fifty-fifty was well accepted by him.

We spent couple of days nicely in the rural ambience and everyone was very happy, I was able to spend some time for the garden, kids did explore few dining places (more to come on that) and had a whole different experience of rural life. Unfortunately an emergency came up - Mom got sick and I had to take him to the nearest govt hospital and the doctor raised an alarm. On doing further tests, it was revealed that she has Gallbladder stones and severe infection which must be treated immediately. So we had to pack our bags and bring both Mom and Dad ( as Dad can't stay alone) and I am writing this from Hospital. My best friend came and helped a lot in the morning to pack everything and come from there, he even took few photos in the camera. I was planning to have a good photo shoot of our family, but it turned out differently, still it will be a memoir of my lifetime (that too on the boy's birthday). Though the doctor was recommending to do the surgery there, I requested him to give some medication so that we can bring her to a better hospital, as the condition of govt hospitals is not good.

The boy's birthday dinner was cut shot and I was able to join them only for half an hour, we have to balance out both the sides. We did lot of shopping and there was lot of preparation for the New Year party tonight and I am still not sure, if I will be able to join for some time, there have been already few calls to join for a short time at least.

This is what Life is, it always has a twist, full of unexpected changes, challenges, and surprises that rarely follow a linear path. We have limited control over external events but that's what make life an adventure - sometimes the wrong train may take us to the right station.

Most likely, we will have Mom's surgery tomorrow, so I may not get a chance to post soon, Wish you all a very Happy New Year in Advance - to a new beginning.
