Show Me A Photo Contest Round 214 - The Coot (5pics)

This week's theme (ROUND 220)
SHOW ME A PICTURE OF BIRD YOUNG BIRD

Hi, @nelinoeva. How are you?
I recently visited the westernmost region of Russia, Kaliningrad, and saw interesting birds that I had never seen in our region. These are mostly waterfowl.
Mother Nature is ingenious with various inventions and has developed structural features for every living being in nature to make it easier to obtain food or save their lives. Or did God do it?
For example, A Coot. This bird has some ridiculously large paws, and they help the bird to dig in the ground and look for food.
I met this feathered family on the shore of the city pond. They were invisible from the side of the footpath, but I noticed that the grass by the water was moving. There is no such movement without a reason. I decided to check it out and saw such interesting birds. Surprisingly, the chicks are completely different from their parents. What strange heads they have.

May 20th, but are the chicks that big already? They dug the ground on their own and searched for food. That surprised me the most.

The Coot is a gymnast. If I'm not mistaken, a similar figure was called a "swallow" in childhood. The bird stands on one paw and stretches its other paw back.

But before I met this feathered family, I watched as a bird swam across the pond from the far shore to the shore where I was and held something in its beak. I thought it was a fish. I went to the place where the bird was heading and saw that there was a stick in its beak. And the bird was a coot. While watching, I saw that this guy was swimming towards his girlfriend, who was sitting on the nest.
That's why, when I saw the chicks after 5 minutes from other birds, I was surprised by such a difference. One bird is sitting on the nest, and the other adult birds already have chicks.
