Young Birds

in Feathered Friends7 days ago

Hello, hello, hello,

The week gone by and here we enjoy sunny and warm weekend. Perfect time for birding and walks. I love this time when the fledglings are about. They leave the nests and still unexperienced, they keep on demanding their parents to feed them.

Before I continue, quick reminder about the contest in the Feathered Friends Community #SMaP. Tomorrow is the last day to show your pictures of birds for round 220. The prompt is young birds.

I made a mistake and the contest post cannot be pinned in the community. Somehow I did not post it there. So here is the link.

That is why, my post today is also about the young birds I have photographed.

First is the magpie. If you look at the contest post, the photo is of such bird. It was on a tree surrounded by the parents, so I left it undisturbed. Funny enough, the tree was right next to a construction building. I wonder how the birds cope with the noise.

When hubby and I continue our walk in the park, we saw another magpie baby. This time no parents around. But I was sure they were not too far.

It has the blue features on the wings, but the tail is short and yet to grow.

Today, we climbed the hill nearby and first thing we heard there were the choir of young starlings. The trees were covered with starlings, but it was not easy to make a good shot of a bird among the leaves. Still, here is one that I did at last.

On the hill we always spot corn buntings. Today, I saw this young bunting.

Sometimes I don't have to leave home. All I need is to open the window and there they are - seagull fledglings on the rooftop of the neighboring block.

At first I thought they are two, but look carefully and you will see that they are three. Next photo was funny as I managed to capture one baby pooing.

The next days I watched them while making coffee in the morning or when I am back from work. They are hiding behind the chimneys and when they came up, sometimes hardly could be noticed as their colour blends with the roof.

And here I will end this short story about the young birds and hope to find more to show.

I made many photos of birds that will be shared in our community. I need time to sort them out and create the posts. So that's all for now.

Have a great weekend! And happy birding!

How great to open the window and find this marvel! 😃

Yesterday I tried to save a young sparrow that fell out of a nest. I called a neighbour to come up and put it back there. He climbed up on an iron structure while I held it and placed it in a hole in the wall of my room that leads to the backyard. I held the little guy in my hand, it was so fragile. However, I didn't take pictures of it.

Greetings! Nice shots!

Aww, you did great. These little birds are so vulnerable.
Thank you very much for your comment.

My pleasure!

Oh these are gorgeous wee fluffy things. The wee magpie without the long tail feathers is fluffing cute! Love the pic of the bunting looking at something.

Great shots Neli

Thank you!
I am so happy seeing these fluff balls. They are all adorable.

Oh yes they really are :)

Such a nice collection! I need to do a proper refresh of my bird photo archives and go out in the fields again, I'm missing joining on the fun. Have a great weekend! !BBH

And I miss your entries. Hope to see your photos soon.
Thanks for stopping by,
