Feathered Friends Show Me A Photo Contest Round 221 "Indian Thick-Knee "

Hello Hive Community.

I hope you all are fine. I am also fine here. Today's post is on a completely new topic and this is my second post in Feathered Friends. In today's post, I have shared with you the photographs of a bird called Indian Thick-Knee. This bird is also known by another name Indian stone-curlew. Today's post is based on a contest in which photographs of the bird are to be submitted. I hope that my post and photographs will be eligible for the Show Me A Photo Contest Round 216 which is being run by @nelinoeva .

In this post, I have presented many photographs of the Indian Thick-Knee to you. To participate in this contest, I have to show one photograph here which is the photograph above. I have submitted the photograph above for this contest.

As I told you above, the Indian Thick-Knee is also known as the Indian Stone-Curlew. This bird is an attractive bird species found locally in the Indian subcontinent. The Indian stone-curlew belongs to the Burhinidae family. The Indian stone-curlew is commonly known as the thick-knee because of the distinctly enlarged joints of its legs. The Indian thick-knee prefers dry, open habitats. It is rarely seen near water bodies. The Indian thick-knee is a medium-sized bird. The length of this bird is about 40 to 45 centimeters. The bird is sandy-brown in color. And its feathers are adorned with black and white stripes. This color helps it blend in easily with its arid and semi-arid environment.

I have presented two photographs to you above. In which if you look at the other photographs, one of the attractive features of this bird can be seen, its large yellow eyes. Which gives the Indian stone-curlew excellent night vision. The beak of this bird is short and slightly curved. Which is often black in color. As can be seen in the second photo above, the bird's long legs are yellow. Which are suitable for walking long distances in search of food.

I believe that the Indian Stone-Curlew is a unique and somewhat mysterious bird, well-adapted to the arid landscapes and night life of India. I hope you enjoyed the photographs and information I have provided about the Indian Stone-Curlew in this post. With that, I will conclude my post today.

I hope that my post will definitely pass the Show Me A Photo Contest Round 221.

I sincerely thank you for visiting and reading my post.
