We have a special name for these beautiful birds—I can't find a word for it in English. It means "svirel," a Slavic woodwind instrument of the end-blown flute. This refers to the birds' voices, which consist of a murmuring trill that sounds like the musical instrument of the same name.

These birds inhabit the northern taiga's coniferous and mixed forests. With the arrival of autumn, they begin their migrations beyond their habitats in search of food. At this time, they primarily feed on rowan berries, viburnum berries, and wild apples. When spring arrives, the birds begin to fly back to their habitats, consuming the newly emerging buds of trees along the way.
