🦉 The Siberian stonechat or Asian stonechat (Saxicola maurus)
- Saxicola (lat ): saxum rock, stone, -cola inhabitant
- maurus (lat.): Moorish, black
These birds inhabit open spaces, such as meadows or clearings in front of or among forests. They are easy to spot, as their habit includes perching on the tops of shrubs or grass. This makes them very visible, especially in spring, before all the vegetation has bloomed.
Males can be seen most often, as they are busy guarding their territory, while females are busy building a nest or incubating eggs.
The male has red black plumage with a bright red spot on the chest, while the females have dark red plumage and a light orange chest.

I'm trying to post new photos. The problem is that I have a huge number of photos, and before uploading, I use the search to look through my past posts. But the search often doesn't work! I constantly get a "500 error" on ecency, and using hive.blog doesn't even search through my posts. So I have to remember whether I've already uploaded a photo or not.
If I post some old photos, it's not intentional. On the contrary, I'm motivated to post as many new ones as possible, because it's already 2026, and I'm still posting photos from 2022, and they keep piling up.
