I have prepared a selection of birds of prey that I encountered in the forests of my city.

Eurasian Hobby

These small predators live in a small forest of tall coniferous trees near a river. I see them in the same place every year.

Sparrowhawk

This fearsome predator terrorizes the forest near my house. As soon as small birds spot it, they immediately panic.

Kestrel

This is a rare visitor to the forest. However, I have had the opportunity to admire these birds hovering in the air over one spot, watching for prey.

Honey Buzzard

Unfortunately, I've only encountered this bird once, and only from afar, in the air. And that was in a coniferous forest.

Ural Owl

I often encounter these beautiful creatures in mid-October. They like to perch in the trees near the ravine and rest there.

Raven

These bandits are quite rare for some reason, but I know where they live.

Black Kite

Well... yes, they are predators, catching small rodents, nestlings, and even fish. However, they'd rather rummage through garbage dumps near houses.

Goshawk

I've only seen it once, and that was on a lake where various species of ducks and sandpipers like to forage and rest in the shade.

Buzzard

These birds live exclusively in one area: forests, hills, and marshy areas.

Siberian Shrike

Yes, don't be surprised! This is truly a fully-fledged bird of prey, despite its small size. Besides insects, it feeds on small rodents and lizards.
