We all have different definitions of the word “perfect,” each according to our taste and style. For some, a perfect day is when everything goes smoothly—no unnecessary drama, no unforeseen circumstances that could mess with their mental health, just a pure and steady flow of joy, good vibes, and energy. For others, a perfect day is a stress-free day—when nothing urgent gets in your way and you don’t have to struggle with an endless list of chores; just you and your favorite things. There are also people who find perfection in little wins; achieving a goal, ticking a task, or finally doing something they have been sidelining for ages. There’s no universally accepted definition of a “perfect day”. As long as it ticks your boxes then it could pass for a perfect day in your dictionary.
For you, what is your definition of a perfect day? What are the things that have to be in place before a day can be tagged “perfect.” Maybe it is a day with your favorite person, watching Netflix shows and munching on snacks. Maybe it is starting indoors alone with your phone, binge-watching your favorite show with no calls, or no one coming to disturb you. What makes a perfect day for you? Over the years, I have come to realize something worth taking note of; no day ever feels perfect if you’re expecting something grand. You might end up disappointed, withdrawing yourself to a little corner with a sad and soggy face if you’re expecting something grand. I’ve realized that finding joy in small and little things and tagging them “perfect” is a better approach.
A good meal, particularly when I prepare it myself, is one thing that can make my day perfect. I love it when, on a bright morning, when the weather is cool and the air is calm and chilly, I go out to get food supplies. I don’t remember the last time I had fried plantain, but I’m pretty sure it’d fit in and make a day perfect for me. If I had to schedule a day to be called perfect. I’d go out to the nearest supermarket, and buy a bunch of plantains that are not too soft and not too hard—I have been in love with plantain for years, and I know that the ones in between are perfect. Then, I’d buy fried fish to make stew. In my street, there’s a woman who sells fried fish. I’d buy an extra one so I can eat it on my way back. Getting home, I’d head straight to the kitchen and prepare rice, stew, fish, and fried plantain. What’s a good day without good food?
Moving on, another thing that needs to be in place for a day to be perfect for me is good anime. I love to watch anime (or anything really) while eating. It is a habit I have formed since I was young, and it has grown to become a part of me. My perfect day would continue after preparing the food. I’d serve myself and sit at my table while I watch anime. Not just any anime, but one that I have never seen before, and one that grabs my attention in the first episode. One spoon after the other, I enjoy the food till it finishes. Then, after eating, I sluggishly roll onto my bed to continue watching anime till my eyes get red and sleepy.
Lastly, another thing that needs to be in place for a day to be perfect is a new book or reels – never both, just one. It would be nice to spend the evening scrolling through reels on Instagram or reading a brand-new book. These three things aren't grand and may not seem fit to call "perfect," but they would surely make me happy.
Thanks for reading.

Those are really nice activities to make a day perfect, especially when you know that there is joy even in the little things.

This is a very good one.
I love all your points because I love reading books as well. Having a good meal also makes my day because I love cooking good food and also eating good food. Lastly I hear you talking about watching anime. Though I don't really have time for that, but I watch lots of movies.
Do have a great Sunday.
