Desde hace unos pocos años, en la televisión Cubana, existe un día específico de la semana en que trasmiten Cine Indio (una película). Este cine tiene, por estos lares, tantos seguidores como detractores. A mí alrededor, hay muchas personas que aborrecen el Cine Indio, todo lo contrario de mí. Se quejan de sus excesos de cantos y bailes y en cambio, esos son detalles que a mí me gustan, aunque no todas las películas indias son así. Pero como ya se sabe, de gustos no se discute. Así que no quiero convencer a nadie, simplemente, expongo mis razones.

For the past few years, on Cuban television, there is a specific day of the week when they broadcast Indian Cinema (a movie). Here, this cinema has as many followers as it has detractors. Around me, there are many people who detest Indian Cinema, the complete opposite of me. They complain about its excess of songs and dances, whereas those are precisely the details I like, although not all Indian films are like that. But as we all know, there's no accounting for taste. So, I don't want to convince anyone; I simply state my reasons.
Indian cinema is a sui generis cultural phenomenon, one of the most prolific and wonderful film industries in the world. It has an unmistakable signature; you can start watching halfway through and immediately realize you are in the presence of an Indian film. They exert a unique fascination that transcends borders and cultures. For me, it's not just about watching movies; it's about immersing oneself in a total sensory experience, a festival of emotions that conquers my heart.

The first spell comes from its overflowing vital energy, from the strength and tenderness conveyed through their performances. Indian films overflow with fantasy; they are a complete emotional package, making you laugh, cry, fall in love, or become angry. This journey is almost always accompanied by spectacular musical numbers, where choreography, color, and music fuse into sequences that are like music videos integrated into the story. These songs and dances are an authentic way of showing us the passion the characters feel. Precisely this aspect of dance and singing is what "bothers" many viewers.

They consider it a waste of time;however, I think that detail distinguishes and sets it apart from other cinematographies. Beyond the glitter and dance, these films highlight a profoundly moving humanity. The stories often focus on family, honor, love, self-improvement, and patriotism, quintessentially universal themes. Indian cinema is not afraid of happy endings, but the path to them is full of conflicts and genuine character development and evolution.
These photos I'm showing you today are from the last film shown on Cuban television; I don't remember the title. I spent several weeks "hunting" for a film that had music, dance, and songs because, as it happens, previous ones had none of that. Delving into this colorful universe is about discovering a new way of receiving storytelling, more paced and melodramatic, which allows you to savor each moment like a piece of Swiss chocolate. It's about accepting that reality stretches and shrinks to give life to the unusual and extraordinary.
My taste for Indian cinema stems from that yearning for stories that change reality and move me deeply; it comes from romance (I am an incurable romantic), from dreaming and feeling on a grand scale. Watching these films is, for me, an emotional refuge in a world full of wars and conquests.
Indian films are masters at connecting with fans like me who enjoy every second of the screening. Combining several genres (drama, comedy, romance, action, musical) into a single film is a dazzling audiovisual spectacle, and beyond entertainment, it offers us a window into the culture of that country. If I had to make one caveat, it would be that many of these films tend to be a bit long; some last more than 2 hours, and this, for impatient viewers (which is not my case), is fatal. Perhaps because I am a music and dance lover that I enjoy this type of film to the fullest. Indian cinema is moving and fun, it invites reflection, and above all, it celebrates life with great intensity.

Me encantan... Las chicas, claro. Jaja.
Las películas Indias tiene personajes lindos, escenografías de un colorido hermoso y de muchos recursos, la música me encanta, pero diciendo la verdad las encuentro demasiado largas y muy cargadas de musicales, son dos cosas muy disfrutables pero me gustan separadas.
Claro que es mi gusto personal porque tienen gran demanda.
