Once again, I found myself serving as the weekend chauffeur for my daughter’s weekend class.
While driving, Bon Jovi suddenly came on the car stereo — and my daughter, listening quietly in the back seat, said:
“I like this kind of strong and exciting music!”
Well, as a dad who loves old pop and rock, I couldn’t help but feel a little proud.
Is this what they call a cross-generational connection?
Feeling inspired, I played Paint It Black next, and she nodded along, saying she liked that one too.
What a unique taste in music this kid has!
Looks like it’s time to start curating a proper playlist for our drives together — from Bon Jovi to The Rolling Stones. Weekend rides just got a whole lot more fun.
오늘도 어김없이 주말 학원 셔틀 기사로 수행 중인 하루였습니다.
운전대를 잡고 어린이를 태우고 가던 중, 우연히 차에서 흘러나온 본조비 음악에 딸아이가 말하더군요.
"이런 강하고 신나는 노래가 좋아요!"
허허, 올드팝과 락을 좋아하는 아빠로서는 마음 한켠이 괜히 뿌듯해졌습니다. 이런 걸 세대 공감이라고 하나요?
신난 김에 ‘Paint It Black’도 들려줬더니, 이것도 좋다며 고개를 까딱까딱.- 우리 딸, 음악 취향이 남다릅니다.
이제 본격적으로 딸과 함께 듣는 음악 리스트를 하나씩 준비해봐야겠습니다. 본조비부터 롤링스톤스까지, 주말 드라이브가 더욱 즐거워질 것 같네요.
Your daughter surely inherited your musical tastes, so you should create that playlist so that when it's your turn to take your daughter back next week, you can enjoy good music and enjoy the trip.
How wonderful that your little girl reacts that way to good rock music. It reminds me of my childhood listening to The Beatles with my dad. Only good things can come from those quality times.

A Playlist for all the happier times...perfect tuning 😍 ...I also like old songs and surprise to find my kid too started liking of such song in teenage...it is unusual but it makes me happy to find her listening some old Hindi songs... she is not genZ
