I love the topic that @irenenavarroart proposes since I can talk about my profession: accounting.
I have said here on several occasions that I am a writer and it is true. However, before devoting myself to literature, I graduated in accounting and finance.

Accounting is one of those most mechanical and boring professions there is. At the same time, one of the most necessary. There is no business model that does not carry out accounting to a greater or lesser extent.
I don't mean that they are accountants, but that they keep their accounts. That's accounting.
So, to answer the question, yes: all the ends and beginnings of the month are the most complicated time for accountants. The larger the companies or the greater number of accounts (clients) you have, the more you will work at the end and beginning of the month: including Christmas. Sometimes, until the sun comes up.

I have had to work, not only on Christmas, but also on Christmas Eve and until December 31st. Notice if the accounting work is hard, that here in Cuba, since 1998, after the visit of Pope John Paul II, work is not done on December 25.
Even so, I had to go to work to be able to close the month on time.
Sometimes, the accountant has to work late into the night, early morning, or even into the next day.

That's why one day I told myself that I would stop working in accounting.
I needed freedom to travel, write.

I couldn't continue to slave behind a desk for 8 or more hours a day, five to seven days a week at the end of the month.
Now I apply accounting to my own interest and enjoy writing at ease.

Me encanta el tema que propone @irenenavarroart ya que puedo hablar de mi profesión: la contabilidad.
Aquí he dicho en varias ocasiones que soy escritor y es cierto. Sin embargo, antes de dedicarme a la literatura, me gradué de contabilidad y finanzas.

La contabilidad es una de esas profesiones más mecánicas y aburridas que hay. Al mismo tiempo, de las más necesarias. No existe un modelo de negocio que no lleve la contabilidad en mayor o menor medida.
No me refiero a que sean contadores, sino a que lleven sus cuentas. Eso es contabilidad.
Entonces, para responder a la pregunta, sí: todos los fines e inicios de mes, son la época más complicada de los contadores. Mientras más grandes sean las empresas o mayor número de cuentas (clientes) lleves, más vas a trabajar los fines e inicios de mes: incluído navidad. En ocasiones, hasta que salga el sol.

He tenido que trabajar, no solo en Navidad, también en nochebuena y hasta el 31 de diciembre. Fíjense si el trabajo de contabilidad es pesado, que aquí en Cuba, desde 1998, luego de la visita del Papa Juan Pablo II, no se trabaja el 25 de diciembre.
Aún así, he tenido que ir a trabajar para poder hacer el cierre del mes en tiempo.
En ocasiones, el contador tiene que trabajar hasta tarde en la noche, entrada la madrugada o incluso, hasta el día siguiente.

Por eso un buen día me dije que dejaría de trabajar en contabilidad.
Necesitaba libertad para viajar, escribir.

No podía seguir esclavizado detrás de un buró durante 8 o más horas al día, de cinco a siete días de la semana los fines de mes.
Ahora aplico la contabilidad a mi propio interés y disfrute escribiendo con tranquilidad.
