RE: The end of Downton Abbey

I might have to visit the auction site, although I don't know if I can afford £38K for a car right now 😉 Actually, I can't even afford £10K, which is a shame because I saw a Morris 10 up for sale for that much a couple of months back which had been part of the automotive "supporting cast" in Chitty Bang Bang and had been recently fully restored.

Sort:

Not really into vintage cars so had to Google the Morris 10, what a little beaut, so stylish. But even if you had the spare change, would you have bought it? Are you into vintage cars, or did you want to fulfill some childhood fantasy?😉

Truth be told it's a bit of all of the above !

I'm into old bikes rather than cars, but I love anything mechanical from the era before computers got involved (I've just re-commissioned a vintage 1932 Singer sewing machine....). My father always had vintage cars, so they were always around as I grew up - he focused on Morris ones, including a lovely 1928 flat-nose Morris Cowley as well as a Morris 10. My great-grandfather on my mother's side built Lagonda prototypes and racing cars. So I guess it's just something that's in my blood ! 😀
