The questions organized by @marivic10 this week in @ladiesofhive are interesting as am here to answer the no.2 question
What was the first dessert or recipe you learned to make? We would love for you to share it with everyone
Hello Hive come on let me show you how to make this delicious local meal , my first ever meal i learned how to make
Local foods are most times missed because you find out their ingredients are not always in the city market unless you have to make request from the village, if you're lucky to have someone from the village who is coming to the city where you are living
Ji nmirioku as my people called it (yam pepper soup with local ingredients) is the first food my grandma thought me how to cook because it is very easy to prepare and the ingredients are easy to find in the village
Is a healthy food that keep you fit because of the local ingredients, Aidan fruit helps get rid of toxic from your system and the bitter leaves (utazi) makes the stomach cool and we know that yam is starchy food and other ingredients that nourishes the body
Grandma may her soul continue to rest, thought me how to prepare this food by assigning duties to me whenever she was cooking it, she would ask me to bring the yam out, showed me the size to cut, peel, wash and put on the 🔥 🔥 it was with fire wood then, stressful but enjoyable because your food will done faster just like gas cooker
After i might have done that, i went and told her where she was seated and another thing was to get her the whole ingredients and she gave me according to the quality required to make the food have good taste and also told me how to wash and put them inside the pot of yam on the fire, after a while she would come and check and also tasted it, told me when i brought it down and i was very happy from the first day, that was how i learned
I have a sample here to show you how to prepare it is very easy, because of this contest i went to the market and i was lucky to buy the ingredients
Half cut of yam
Quarter stockfish head
One spoon grounded crayfish
Two pieces of dry fish
Half spoon of salt
Three pieces of fresh pepper
Quarter of Aidan fruit
Is a full yam but i cut it half because that is the quantity i desire
I cut them in small pieces so that they will be done in less than 30 minutes, peeled and wash and put in the pot, and because i cut the yam into small size i would put all the ingredients before cooking only the leaves will be left which will come last
I washed and put all the ingredients, allow to cook for about 30 minutes, before the leaves came in and immediately i brought it down
The food is served come and eat 🍽️🥛🍴
Thank you for going through my post 🙏🙏
