Dress for my sister | NeedleWorkMonday

in NeedleWorkMonday7 days ago (edited)

Hello everyone! It's been a while since I last shared a post. Today, I'm excited to showcase a dress that I recently stitched for my sister. She asked me to take on the project because she's particularly fond of my tailoring skills and feels that no one else can match my attention to detail. While I'm happy to oblige, I must admit that tailoring isn't my true passion. I'm more drawn to creative pursuits like crafting and painting, which bring me a sense of joy and fulfillment.

That being said, I've learned to tailor clothes for my siblings, and it's become a way for me to help them out. However, one thing that I don't particularly enjoy about tailoring is the amount of time it takes. Stitching a single shirt can take up to 3-4 hours, and it's not uncommon for me to spend an entire day working on a single garment. This time commitment can be overwhelming at times, which is why I don't always look forward to taking on tailoring projects.

The dress I'm sharing today is a great example of my sister's impeccable taste. She's a huge fan of the color black, and most of her wardrobe consists of black dresses and tops. She had ordered this particular fabric online and asked me to stitch it into a beautiful dress. I'm glad she liked the final result, and I hope you'll enjoy seeing it too.

So let's start

Procedure

First, I ironed the fabric, and then I cut it according to my sister's measurements, and here are the picture, you can see

After that, I made a simple neckline, ironed it, attached it to the fabric, and then sewed it onto the front of the shirt using a machine

Then , I made a border at the neckline and also added lace on the sides, as you can see in the picture

After that, I cut out the sleeves and attached them to the shirt. Then, I added lace to the sleeves.

After that, I added lace around the hem and applied patches all over, and it turned out amazing, as you can see in the picture

Next, these are the final results of my dress, which I put a lot of time into.

I hope you'll like them. That's all for today, I'll catch you later, bye!

Don't worry about the stress
Because sometimes the joy of making something for yourself or others is worth it

you're absolutely right, tailoring is hard work, but it's also a lot of fun. I enjoy doing it, but it takes a bit of time, so I only do it occasionally. However, whenever I do it for others, I feel really good

Your siblings are happy to see your work. This dress is so beautiful, elegant, and stylish. It will look amazing on your sister. Nice work! Thanks!
