Who needs flowers when you can crocheted one ?

in NeedleWorkMondayyesterday (edited)

Hello guys I'm back with another crocheted project.I got little busy with my university quizzes and assignments. Yesterday I was preparing my programming quiz (I don't like programming BTW I find it so difficult and it scares me soooo much ) I texted my friend to ask question from quiz topic she said she hasn't studied anything. After listening this I also decided to stop studying and started chilling. After scrolling for a bit I decided to crocheted medium sized sunflower.I have crocheted sunflower keychain before this but not a whole flower.I watched a YouTube tutorial and it was quite easy so I took hooks and other stuff out from my bag.

I started with the seed part I have two shades of brown one is wheatish brown and the other one is dark brown I decided to go with the dark brown. It was simple magic ring single crochet and Inc pattern.I was supposed to make seeds and then join them by inserting cotton inside them.Making seeds was a bit boring so I put some music in the background mind that I got little distracted but thank God I counted my stitches before finishing the seed.

After this boring part it was time for petals I don't like yellow colour in general but SUNFLOWER is my favourite flower I love it's bright and big petals.I was really excited for the petals part BTW.The pattern for petals was a little confusing tho it was something like double crochet, triple crochet, double triple crochet and then chain 2 all these stitches were made in 1 stitch and then I made chain of 2 single crochet and double crochet in the next stitch. The petals part requires a bit of attention. BUT when I saw 1st petal I got really excited and it boosted my energy very much.

I almost made 12 to 15 petals I really enjoyed this part.

After this I stopped crocheting petals and added stuffing sometimes I forget stuffing part and then I cry(it hurts to see your effort go in to the vain)

At this point I was done with the major part after this it was time to make leaf the pattern of leaf was also quite simple but there was a technical part where I had to add wire in to the leaf I didn't understand that part in fist few attempts but after paying close attention I finally understood that part I immediately crocheted a leaf I was really excited to attach it with the flower.Leaf turned out to be really cute.

After this tiny part was left that was wrapping green yarn around stem.People use specific crocheted sticks for flowers but guess what I didn't have that so I used my non-existent brain and picked chop stick and surprisingly it worked.I used that chop stick and surprisingly it worked.I used that chop stick and wrapped my green yarn around that I forgot to record that part but it was soo funny but nvm.

After all this effort it was time to attach stem with the flower for this I used Hot glue gun I almost screamed with happiness when I saw cute and bright sunflower in my hands.I can't explain that feeling in words as I said earlier sunflower is my favourite making one for myself was never in my list but when I made one it almost healed my inner child.I almost said "I'm really proud myself "

Let me share the final picture with you guys and it is a reminder for you to make your inner kid happy by gifting yourself stuff you like or you once used to like.
