Hello Hive
Happy new Monday to us all; it's another creative Monday, and I'm delighted that we will be seeing some creativity flooding this page today.

About two days ago I had continued with the making of my neighbor's daughter's outfits, as I have been able to make just one outfit out of the 4 fabrics she has brought to sew.

Seeing that she didn't give me any specific designs in mind, I had cut a circle skirt here with the Duchess material, having it in mind to sew a skirt and top for our little girl.
The mother came around and insisted that I sew a ball dress of all 4 designs. Which left me with no options but to think of the design of how I can transform the skirt and blouse I had earlier sewn into a ball gown.

I took the remaining piece of the fabric I had wanted to use to sew a ball dress to cut out the upper bodice of the girls' outfits here.

Then I took the circle skirt, removed the waist elastic band, and adjusted it to a measurement that will make it fitting to become a gown.
After that I got some bias strip and used it to turn the necklines of the upper bodice here. Once a fabric is thick enough, I don't advise using linings under it unless we have some mission of creating extra fullness.

Some of the reasons why we use linings under clothes are when these clothes are transparent or not thick enough and when we need some curated form of firmness. This fabric is already heavy enough, and it won't be fair to bother little children with heavily padded clothes that carry so much weight. Eliminating the lining is the best option for this outfit.

I continued stitching this by joining the seam allowances. Since there is no weaving machine to weave this, I used the bias strip to turn the hem of the dress as well.

Then I got these glittery lace trimmings and used them to tape the edge of a 3" fabric, which I gathered and sewed in the front block together with this little

After that I was able cut out some sleeve pattern here

Which I created a neat hemming for and then proceeded to pleat it to the sleeve of the outfit.

This was creative from my very own creative mind without seeking for inspiration anywhere. I'm glad that I can put my creative mind/thoughts to good use.
