Almost a full day before the end of the ranked play season at Splinterlands, and it's time to see my progress on maxing out my Rebellion soulbound reward cards.
But before we go there, I'll talk a bit about my pack openings and what I did next...
Well... no BF for me! 🙁 Not even a GFL. I tempted my luck, because with many more packs, luck wouldn't be such a factor. But I wasn't in the position to buy many packs. Where I guess I was lucky was that I was airdropped 1 GF promo card out of 2. I placed most good cards on the market. I hope to recoup most of the initial investment and still have some common and rare CA cards, which are too cheap to bother to sell. It's not the scenario I would have preferred, but it would be relatively ok, given the circumstances. But this scenario will likely push the start of my CA accumulation further away.
On the other side of the spectrum and connected with the launch of Conclave Arcana too, my Aura production has proven its worth and is doing great. 😀 Would have been better had I accumulated with more of them to the point when packs could have been opened, to benefit of the FOMO and the rising price, but the reverse was also possible, that too many people would have done that and all trying to sell lots of potions at the same time, pushing the price down. That didn't happen, because the demand was still much higher than the offer.
Let's get back to the Rebellion soulbound set.
I was able to purchase all 1st batches draws with the Glint earned (except legendary ones).
So, let's see what I did with the Glint this season.
I had no Glint to purchase more legendary draws this time around, but I was able to buy all 25 epic draws, all 100 rare draws, and 400 common draws. I still have 6,580 Glint remaining (probably a little more by the end of season, which will be carried over to next season's report, but I still intent to play a little Survival at the end of the season).
That makes it easy to see how much Glint I earned this season (including the season rewards from last season). That makes it a total of 322,500 Glint used for draw purchases this season (+6,580 remaining in my stash for a total of 329,080). Last season I had a total of 329,254 Glint in purchases. That means I spent 174 less Glint this season.
Let's keep a table too, going forward:
Season since New SB Set | Glint Used to Purchase Draws | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 5 | 363,200 | |
Season 6 | 344,400 | -18,800 Glint |
Season 7 | 352,700 | +8,300 Glint |
Season 8 | 341,850 | -10,850 Glint |
Season 9 | 328,100 | -13,750 Glint |
Season 10 | 427,500 | +99,400 Glint |
Season 11 | 462,500 | +35,000 Glint |
Season 12 | 322,500 | -140,000 Glint |
Season 13 | 305,550 | -16,950 Glint |
Season 14 | 314,100 | +8,550 Glint |
Season 15 | 322,500 | +8,400 Glint |
Season 16 | 295,200 | -27,300 Glint |
Season 17 | 322,500 | +27,300 Glint |
Season 18 (current) | 322,500 | +0 Glint |
Last 3 seasons' average | 313,400 |
Let's see what my current situation of the Rebellion SB set completion progress is so far:
Season since New SB Set | Commons % | Rares % | Epics % | Legendaries % |
---|---|---|---|---|
Season 1 | 1 / 0 | 2 / 0 | 8 / 0 | 9 / 0 |
Season 2 | 2 / 1 | 2 / 0 | 9 / 0 | 17 / 0 |
Season 3 | 3 / 1 | 2 / 0 | 10 / 0 | 23 / 0 |
Season 4 | 5 / 2 | 3 / 1 | 12 / 0 | 27 / 0 |
Season 5 | 7 / 2 | 4 / 2 | 13 / 0 | 36 / 0 |
Season 6 | 8 / 3 | 5 / 2 | 15 / 0 | 42 / 0 |
Season 7 | 9 / 3 | 6 / 2 | 15 / 0 | 51 / 0 |
Season 8 | 10 / 3 | 7 / 2 | 17 / 0 | 58 / 0 |
Season 9 | 10 / 3 | 7 / 2 | 24 / 1 | 61 / 0 |
Season 10 | 19 / 5 | 14 / 4 | 31 / 4 | 63 / 0 |
Season 11 | 28 / 6 | 22 / 4 | 39 / 6 | 65 / 0 |
Season 12 | 37 / 8 | 29 / 5 | 47 / 9 | 65 / 0 |
Season 13 | 44 / 9 | 37 / 5 | 54 / 11 | 67 / 0 |
Season 14 | 52 / 11 | 45 / 5 | 62 / 11 | 67 / 0 |
Season 15 | 61 / 13 | 53 / 5 | 70 / 13 | 67 / 0 |
Season 16 | 66 / 14 | 61 / 6 | 79 / 14 | 67 / 0 |
Season 17 | 75 / 17 | 70 / 8 | 85 / 16 | 67 / 0 |
Season 18 (current) | 84 / 19 | 78 / 8 | 91 / 17 | 67 / 0 |
That's +0% to the progress of legendary cards, +6% progress to epic cards (and +1% to epic GF), +8% progress to rare cards (and +0% to the rare GF), and 9% progress to the common cards (and +2% to the common GF).
I now have 2 maxed out epics and 2 maxed out legendary cards. No rare and common are maxed yet, but several are very close. I think it's time to switch. From next season, I'll buy 5 legendary draws, 10 epic draws, and the rest divide between rare and common draws until one of them gets a maxed card. It's time to push more into legendary cards again, since the chances of having duplicates for epics is higher than for legendary cards now.
So, for the time being, the strategy is: 5 legendary, 10 epics, rare and common (until one of them gets 1 maxed card, then switch).
Here are the "before and after" snapshots for the Rebellion SB epic cards, which are my current main focus. "Before" first:
1 at level 6 (max level), 5 at level 5, 1 at level 4
Preparing for next week, here's the "before" for legendary cards too:
2 at level 4 (max), 8 at level 3, 1 at level 2, 1 at level 1
And now the current levels of the epic cards...
My Rebellion SB epic cards: 2 at level 6 (max level), 4 at level 5, 1 at level 4.
This season, 1 epic card was upgraded to max level.
Perhaps a more relevant metric is the amount of Glint already spent compared to the total amount needed to max out the SB set (only regulars).
Here' s my situation:
8,790,000 Glint
Glint value of the cards collected so far (ignore GF and doubles):
6,730,000 Glint
Progress percentage:
76.56%
Estimated^ time to max out the RF cards (or GF, where possible):
7 more seasons (3.5 months, i.e. end-August)
^) estimation now includes tier advancement rewards (average last 3 seasons); estimation doesn't account for Glint wasted on pulling doubles of maxed out cards or GF instead of RF (where GF card level isn't high enough)
Last season's Glint value of cards collected: 6,427,600.
Difference: 302,400 Glint-worth of cards this season, including tier advancement rewards.
Season since New SB Set | Glint-Worth of Cards (including Tier Advancement Rewards) | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 7 | 414,550 | - |
Season 8 | 368,400 | -46,150 Glint |
Season 9 | 328,850 | -39,550 Glint |
Season 10 | 388,350 | +59,700 Glint |
Season 11 | 446,250 | +57,900 Glint |
Season 12 | 330,600 | -115,650 Glint |
Season 13 | 407,400 | +76,800 Glint |
Season 14 | 344,400 | -63,000 Glint |
Season 15 | 352,050 | +7,650 Glint |
Season 16 | 323,250 | -28,800 Glint |
Season 17 | 298,500 | -24,750 Glint |
Season 18(current) | 302,400 | +3,900 Glint |
Last 3 seasons' average | 308,050 |

It's too bad about your pack openings, but its rough when you don't have that many packs. You did get a promo gold foil so I think that did work out to an extent.
Yep. That one cannot be inflated anymore, so if there demand for it, it would sell.
For the promo gold foil, you can cash in now, or cash in in October, however, I still didn't the price will steady go up, so waiting might be ideal.
I can't even as much Glint lol, I lost my SPS delegation last week 😆
I added a price significantly higher than the market price since there is no more inflation on this card. Will see if or when that price target is hit.
I delegated you 10k SPS. I can't promise you a timeframe for how long it will be delegated, but for now it's yours to use. 😉
I see on the market commons and rare are already super cheap, when general sale is up and running they will dump even more, I wonder who will buy starter packs with cards worth few cents
General sale already started.
Hmm, you have a point... But forget about starter packs. I didn't get anything other than regular common and rare cards from my standard packs either. That was, of course, my bad luck in this case.
That's why the alchemy packs sold well, on average it was probably higher chance to have value on those rather than a regular pack
Yes, they produced much better results for me. But statistically it's not relevant, since I didn't have enough packs of any kind.
When a good result comes after a whole day's hard work, it makes you very happy to see it.
