BLACKTOP on NBA2K will be my weekend opener

Hey gamers, it is Friday, and we all know what it means when it's another Friday: Weekend gaming is activated. For me, I always look forward to the weekend as it is my time to sit down at home, turn on the PS5 or PC, and start gaming. The office work is done the moment I clock out, and I try my best to make sure all my work is done before the weekend, because I know I will only work any overtime when it is an emergency, which comes with an extra paycheck. Aside from that, I am buckled up for a weekend of relaxation for the body and soul. Gamers, you need to find that source of relaxation and hold on to it when you are dealing with a 9-to-5.

So, to start the weekend, is NBA2k, but instead of finishing up on my running league, I chose to play NBA Blacktop. You get to select what format of basketball you would like to play. Is it a one basketball player against another basketball player, a three-on-three, a four-on-four, or a five-on-five? I went for five-on-five, and I got to choose my top five players across different teams. Aside from the playing format, you get to pick what style of basketball court. Do you want a half-court game or a full-court game?

Each time I played blacktop in the past, I always played the full-court game, but this time I had to spice things up for myself. So I went for a half-court game. You play with only a fraction of the court, and the game resets your players to the starting position after a basket is made. It was a fun new challenge for me, and I fancy a chance to tweak a game challenge for myself, especially games I play frequently.

The half-court game started slowly with a couple of misses, given that I am already used to a gaming style of running to the loop and making build-up plays right from the backcourt down to the opponent's court. Do not get it wrong, as these plays can still be made even in a half-court game, but when it comes to making build-up plays right from the backcourt, it is impossible, therefore posing a new threat if that is your playing style.

The game was a best of 21 points, but when I was in the lead with a solid difference of 10 points, oh my, I got to see the other side of CPU and what it means to play them on a Hall of Fame difficulty. The basket began to drop as the commentary changed from praising my plays to questioning what I was doing wrong. I guess I got corky thinking the win was already mine instead of staying locked in and finishing the job.

Well, pride comes before a fall, and now I have learned that it also applies to gaming. Blacktop is one thing the 2K gaming company is doing right. It is something like FIFA's street football, but this time for basketball. So far weekend is off to a good start.
