Do you encounter with wildlife in your garden?
This week has been a tough one, as I had to go couple of times to my native, to procure mangoes from our garden, as we do not get these exotic mangoes even in market. Apart from they being organic, the taste of these mangoes makes me mad and very anxious to not loose them at all.

A little harsh summer made them ripen on the plant and this attracted all wild attentions - troop of monkeys visited to survey and prepare an attack plan, Mom putting the first line of defense (a barricade of thorns from the from the apple berry plant) spoiling their immediate war plan. Mom even stores some crackers to scare them, but of late, they have adopted to these sounds, and no longer fear them. But you can't stop birds - they have a much better instinct to know which one is ready to eat.
Mom quickly put up couple of these tools to pluck the mangoes, this is something, I still need to learn.
We have even bamboos at our home, they are put up at an extreme corner in the backward based on some Bastu compliance. But pulling them is the most difficult task, she already had this in mind, so she cut two straight bamboos and left them since last one month - once dry, it's easy to pull them.
And after I reached, the very next morning, we were on a mission - to get all the yellow ones first. It's difficult to pluck them later in the day, as holding the plucking tool with that long bamboo needs good amount of strength and work, and the hot weather discourages the interest.
The one above is the most tasty mango that tastes sweeter like sugar. I have even given a name to it - soul satisfying mango - the joy of eating fulfills the desire to east something at the very moment we eat it. We ourselves don't know, how this plant grew up and thus don't know the name or breed but I can tell you, it's the most exotic mango that we ever get in market.
This one is also nice and Mom's favorite, though not as sweet as the other one - so Mom keeps most of these and I bring the other one - we both are happy.
These many mangoes fall on their own every day - unless you eat them on that day (which is not possible for them), they get damaged. The yellow ones are easy to pluck - you just need to make sue, the tool is rightly placed, so that the mango will fall inside - a little shake will do that.
The house is full of mangoes - they are everywhere - the most ripen ones being put on the fridge.
Next day morning, I climbed the tree and got these many of Mom's favorite - they are now resting on sand, to be ready for us.
Looks mouth watering and delicious ? Getting couple of mangoes from the fridge and eating them in hot summer feels like eating a very delicious golden yellow ice cream. We have distributed many to friends and relatives and everyone is asking what's the name of the mango ? You see, this is why I have given a name too.
We stopped plucking more as we were running out of space to keep them but interestingly, one of our very old friend invited us for his house entering ceremony in a gap of three days (more to come on that), so I had to go again and plucked another batch. This summer is really fulfilling - after a long time, we have had this many mangoes, especially the sweeter ones - all fully organic without any pesticide.
Have you ever had a memorable encounter with wildlife in your garden? Keep aside a variety of birds, We are having encounter all most every day with these monkeys - feels like they have now decided to quit their wild life and instead live in a city - will they wear dress and lead a civilized life in few decades !!!
We are also enjoying one more exotic fruit from the garden - more to come on that..

I truly felt the pleasure of eating after a long time - Soul satisfying :)
Good morning, dear friend @sanjeevm, how are you?
I'm not surprised your plants are being attacked by animals. These mangoes look very tempting.
The tools your mother made are impressive. How much fruit they were able to harvest.
Everything looks truly exquisite.
Have a great day.
These mangos are yummy, no doubt, even without tasting them. The feeling is relatable when you have a crop in the garden only for insects or rodent to come and eat them up. I suggest you get a trap in the garden in order to prevent subsequent occurrence.
Hello Mr. @sanjeevm, good morning.
It's great that you can harvest your own fruit. The ones you grow at home will always be healthier.
What a shame about the animals.
It's incredible that the mangoes above are the sweetest. They definitely sweeten the soul.
What a great harvest.
Mango is my favorite. Also, I remember when I was a child, I used to go to the village on vacation and climb the tree and eat very many mangoes, and they were so sweet. But today's fruit sellers use some chemicals to make the mangoes grow fast and taste sweet and make an easy profit. I miss my old days and villages with sweet mangos. I often find myself reminiscing about those carefree summers, where the simple joy of plucking ripe mangoes from the trees filled my days with happiness.
That looks too sweet. 🤤 Ripen at the tree makes it even sweeter. I think it's an Indian mango or apple mango? The colors of it can be apple mango because of the red-orange tone.
Your post only left me craving for mangoes, it's the season but I have not really had it to my fill because it is very expensive.
That's the best thing, my friend: having that great harvest of mangoes, all organic and pesticide-free. The best part is that you can share them with family and friends. A mango in the refrigerator and eating it like that in the heat is better than enjoying ice cream.
All that mangoes are worth A LOT of money here! And they are local so for sure very good and tasty!
Handle monkeys must be a big problem
Have a good Sunday
The mangoes are much and very fresh. If I were to get that here I would spend quite a fortune to get them
Wao that's great mango is my favorite fruit
I’m actually craving some mangoes now
It’s been a while since I had a good mango
Can’t wait to have one
When it's Mango season, it's inevitable to see mangoes fall off and get spoilt, especially when you don't have a lot of people who are eating them. These are really good harvests. Unfortunately you can only eat them for short periods.
I think for me it's about grabbing a good amount and also leaving some for the wild animals that come to visit your garden.
Namaste🙏 Sir, Wow kya baat hai delicious mangos, this time i missed due to not going native place.
INDEED !PIZZA
Your mango harvest is excellent, and I hope it can be beneficial for both your family and friends.
Ouuuu
Those mangoes look very yummy
Nice one!
The mangoes from our city are sold and shipped all over the world. These are also looking very nice and a lot of hard work goes into his garden, on the trees, on everything.
The mangoes are mouthwatering! They resemble the variety which we call here in the Philippines as Indian mango, but in some angles, they are also similar to Apple mangoes. These varieties are both very sweet when ripe compared to the common oval-shaped mangoes. Apple mangoes have a strong smell and a bit rounder compared to Indian mangoes.
The monkeys are mischievous, anyways, at least they're animals that only want to survive. Here in my place, it's not the monkey that are stealing fruits and vegetables, but humans who are lazy to plant. They attack at midnight lol
Enjoy those sweet mangoes @sanjeevm !
That sounds like a win win! You get the ones you want and she gets the ones she wants. They do look delicious.
These mangoes really look so fresh. I really missed eating quality mangoes and fruit generally
This is my favorite kind of mango aside from the ripe native one being used for different desserts! That kind is sweet.

sadly due to the fast wind, we are facing huge loss in mango production this season.
We call that kind as apple mango. It's sweet and crispy even it's not ripe.
