Prompt: Friendly Ghosts

This is my drawing for day 22 of the justdraw challenge. The prompt I worked on today is the friendly ghosts and I decided to draw these two characters which are based on the Ghostface mask from the Scream movies. I just finished watching all of them, like from the very first one all the way to number 6. I don't usually watch horror films back to back like binge watching, but once I started I could not help it, and somehow that mask just stuck in my head. It used to creep me out a little, but after seeing all the movies the more I looked at it the more I thought it could actually be kinda fun and not so scary if I changed it up a bit. So that's how I ended up turning Ghostface into friendly ghosts instead of killers lol.I made two different versions here on purpose. The taller one has this big wide goofy smile so he's the really friendly one, like the happy outgoing type who wants to make friends and cheer you up when you are sad and stressed out. He has got his hand on the shorter one's shoulder giving it a little pat, like saying hey don't worry buddy, we're just hanging out and having a good time chillng together. I gave him a wide grin and cheerful eyes. The shorter one is more like the classic Ghostface look from the said movie, with the long narrow mouth and all, but I still tried to make him look chill and harmless, not angry or mean at all. Just two buddies who happen to have the same spooky mask vibe going on. At first I really thought that this would be a fast and easy drawing because it's mostly black and white shapes with white faces, nothing too complicated, right? But was I wrong. Making them actually look friendly took so much longer than I expected. The big smile on the tall one kept coming out wrong and more like the joke like it would look more evil or creepy no matter how I curved the mouth. I had to erase and redraw the mouth a few times, trying bigger curves, smaller curves, even changing how wide the opening was. And don't get me started on the eyes. Those empty black eye holes are so tricky. If I made them too round they looked surprised, if too narrow they looked mad, and if I left them exactly like the movie mask they just felt cold and dead inside. I kept going back and fixing them over and over until they finally looked cute and playful instead of scary or empty. The whole thing took way more tries than I planned, but I think it was worth it in the end.Anyway, here they are, my friendly Ghostface ghosts just chilling together. What do you guys think? Do they look friendly enough now, or do they still give off a tiny bit of spooky vibe? Let me know, I wanna hear your thoughts
