Hey creative community
I am back to share my little prince for the #Elftober challenge, Day 16: Magical Wardrobe. This was my participation for the Draw A Day community, hosted by the brilliant @cabalen. I decided to focus on the "huge, flowing cape" part of the prompt, since capes just feel regal, warm and magical.

I wanted this elf to look a little bit serene, who is quite serious about his duties, so I gave him a slightly weary expression and those really big, pointy ears that stick out from under the crown. The main focus here is that flowing red cape. I used a nice, rich orange reddish tone for it and let it flow dramatically around him, making him look a bit overwhelmed by the amount of fabric. I can just imagine his cape spreading out behind him as he walk.

For the tunic underneath, I went with a deep, earthy green. This helps the red cape pop so much more, giving the whole outfit a traditional, storybook feel. I kept the stance simple, with his hands clasped over his stomach, which reinforces that sense of calm he has. I added a little beard and some slightly chunky boots to keep his feet snug and warm.
The crown is small and simple, just a few sharp points, but I made sure to add a couple of bright yellow jewels that are hinting on autumn. And because everything he does is just a little bit magical, I floated some sparkly gold stars above his head and two little glowing bugs flying around for company. It makes the scene feel whimsical.

Overall, I had so much fun bringing this little elf king to life. It’s a mix of cozy and quirky vibes, with a little hint of magic that those tiny bugs are drawn to. I just love the final result of my attempt to depict the prompt and would love to hear what you think. Do you think he's a kind king or a strict one? Let me know in the comments
Happy drawing, everyone
I definitely think he is a kind king a little weary but kind. Amazing work
I like the last image with a warm color
I love how transparent your brushes are the art looks luminous and semi finished that is what I like about it
The texture on the cape really has that heavy feel. He absolutely looks like something pulled right out of an old storybook. I love it
