Welcoming The New Year with Family Love, Shared Blessings, and Meaningful Traditions at Home Together

Hello and warm greetings to all ASEAN Hivers and fellow Hivers around the world! I hope everyone is doing well and welcoming the new year with joy and gratitude. This is my first post for the year 2026 and I’m happy to start the year by sharing a meaningful experience

No matter how many years pass, welcoming the New Year with my family will always be the most important tradition for me. Since I was young, I grew up believing that the New Year was magical. When I was child, I truly believed in Santa Claus. Every New Year’s Eve I was so excited because I thought Santa would bring me a gift. Believe it or not, I was already in Grade 4 when I finally stopped believing in Santa Claus. Because of that belief, I used to be very hardworking and behaved whenever Christmas and New Year were approaching, just kidding but those memories still make me smile.

As I grew older, I realized that the real magic of the New Year is not about receiving gifts, but about giving and sharing. Through the blessings I received from my work, I wanted to give back t my family and make our celebration more meaningful. Giving gifts became our little “Santa,” happily carrying gifts and ready to give the, out. Seeing her excitement brought back childhood memories and filled our home with laughter and joy.

We also prepared food to share during our New Year’s gathering. On our dining table was lechon, prepared for everyone to enjoy together. What made the moment special was not the food itself, but the people around the table. We were complete and that was what truly mattered.

I also made sure to give gifts to my siblings and to the people who work with us in the farm. No one went home without a gift. Seeing their smiles and hearing the, say that they felt important and remembered made my heart full. It reminded me that sharing blessings no matter how simple, cerates happiness for everyone.

This experience made me realize that presence is above all. Being together, sharing food and love is what truly makes the New years meaningful.
