If you are fans of architecture, infrastructure and hotel designs; it is a pleasure to share with you some photos of the total deterioration of the tourist facility Muthu Colonial.
Today as participation in the #monomad contest of @monochromes and @brumest, I will give you my experience in the destroyed hotel of the archipelago "Jardines del Rey" in the northern keys of Cuba.

Si eres fans de la arquitectura, infraestructura y diseños hoteleros; es un placer compartir con ustedes algunas fotos del deterioro total de la instalación turística Muthu Colonial.
El día de hoy como participación en el concurso #monomad de @monochromes y @brumest, les daré mi experiencia en el destruido hotel del archipiélago "Jardines del Rey" en los cayos nortes de Cuba.
To begin with, the adventure was a bit complicated, because they do not allow to enter or take pictures of the place. And since I am a fan of adrenaline, I hid in the back so as not to be discovered by security and take the following photos for the community.
My first encounter was with some classic Spanish rooms, in a contrasting dilapidated state. A pity to enter and see this situation, where only a few years ago it was full of clients enjoying their splendid vacations.
Para empezar, fue un poco complicada la aventura, pues no dejan entrar, ni tirar fotos del lugar. Y como soy fans de la adrenalina, me adentre escondido por su parte trasera para no ser descubierto por la seguridad y realizar las siguientes tomas fotográficas para la comunidad.
Mi primer encuentro fue con unas habitaciones clásicas españolas, en un contraste estado ruinoso. Una lastima entrar y ver esta situación, donde tan solo hace unos años estaba lleno de clientes disfrutando de sus espléndidas vacaciones.
As we can see, the interiors of the suites are in complete disrepair, with damaged floors and walls, without furniture or decoration, all in total oblivion.
Even the wild vegetation is trying to take over the center in general, since it is in such a period of instability.
Cómo podemos observar, los interiores de las suite están en completo deterioro, con los suelos, paredes dañados, sin mobiliarios, ni decoración, todo en un olvido total.
Hasta la vegetación silvestre intenta apoderarse del centro en general, al estar tanto período de inestabilidad.
You can see that its reception sign and first rooms, with their guano huts, are still very well preserved.
Se puede ver, que aún se conserva muy bien su cartel de recibimiento y primeras habitaciones, con sus cabañas de guanos.
The neglect is also due to the post-pandemic period, when many projects were paralyzed due to the fall of international tourism and the economic sanctions against Cuba.
However, if you can visit it, you will take some spectacular photos, besides being an attraction for urban explorers in search of hidden treasures.
El descuido también viene dado por la post-pandemia, donde muchos proyectos sufrieron parálisis, debido a la caída del turismo internacional y las sanciones económicas contra Cuba.
No quita, que si pueden visitarlo se llevarán unas fotos espectaculares, además de ser atracción para exploradores urbanos en busca de tesoros escondidos.
This is what happens to many of the tourist sites in the country, with several years of exploitation, that forget to maintain them on time and this situation occurs, but it does not change my way of thinking that the properties are fascinating from a visual and strategic perspective.
Esto es lo que les pasa a muchos de los lugares turísticos del país, con varios años de explotación, que se olvidan de darles mantenimientos a tiempo y ocurre esta situación, pero no cambia mi manera de pensar que los inmuebles son fascinantes desde una perspectiva visual y estratégica.
It is a pity to see the abandonment of such a beautiful facility, miracle that the remaining materials have not been taken away to be used in other hotels, apparently there is hope to reopen the colonial center.
Es una lástima ver el abandono de tan bella instalación, milagro que no se han llevado los materiales restantes para ser utilizados en otros hoteles, al parecer hay esperanza de reabrir el centro colonial.
This lighthouse or viewpoint is the place that I liked the most of the tour, because in its lower part there was a center for the elaboration of Spanish Creole food. And the upper part had the best views in general, symbolic and photogenic.
As you go up you can see its rusty railings and somewhat deteriorated paint.
Este faro o mirador es el lugar que más me gusto del recorrido, pues en su parte baja presentaba un centro de elaboración de comida criolla española. Y la parte alta las mejores vistas en general, simbólico y fotogénico.
Al subir pueden observar sus barandas oxidadas y pintura algo ya deteriorada.
Now I start thinking, why create more hotels in Cuba, if the founders, the main ones, the ones that gave life and joy to the northern keys of the island, are being forgotten.
Why not remodel these and reopen their doors, I am sure they will bring more clients to the island than the new ones created by the government. But well, I only wish they can recover such a beautiful place.
Ahora me pongo a pensar, para que más creación de hoteles en Cuba, si los fundadores, los principales, los que le dieron vida y alegría a los cayos nortes de la isla, están siendo olvidados.
Porque no remodelar estos y reabrir sus puertas, estoy seguro que traerán más clientes a la isla, que los nuevos que crea el gobierno. Pero bueno, solo deseo que puedan recuperar tan lindo lugar.
Even the crab is abandoned haha lol but well positioned for photos. On the way out of the hotel, there is a walkway to a lagoon, which at one time must have been ideal for boating, jet skiing and sport fishing.
Hasta el cangrejos está abandonado jaja lol pero bien posicionado para realizar fotos. Ya camino a la salida del hotel, hay una pasarela hacia una laguna, que en algún momento debe haber sido para ideal para paseo en botes, jet sky y pesca deportiva.
The marine structures such as piers and breakwaters are somewhat damaged by the salinity and the constant pounding of the waves. All in all, it is painful to reflect on how a place with so much tourist potential has become a forgotten space.
Las estructuras marinas como muelles o rompeolas están algo dañadas por la salinidad y el golpe constante de las olas. A reflexionar de todo es doloroso como un lugar con tanto potencial turístico se ha convertido en un espacio olvidado.
By way of conclusion, the Hotel Muthu Colonial conveys a mixture of sadness and mystery, what was once full of life, is now perceived as a silent, almost ghostly resort. Although it also makes it an interesting place for lovers of photographic art.

A modo de conclusión, el Hotel Muthu Colonial transmite una mezcla de tristeza y misterio, lo que alguna vez estuvo lleno de vida, ahora se percibe como un resort silencioso, casi fantasma. Aunque también lo convierte en un lugar interesante para los amantes del arte fotográfico.
