MONOMAD - My niche

in Black And White2 months ago

Hello, Hive friends and welcome back to my black and white journey. Every photographer finds their own niche, something that brings them joy and, ideally, a bit of income too. Well, almost every photographer. Some of us do this more for the soul, to satisfy that inner artistic calling.

Over the years, I’ve photographed countless subjects. And while some might look impressive, they don’t always give me that feeling, that "ompf." I really admire those who have endless patience, waiting for that one perfect moment when the camera captures something unforgettable. Maybe I’m just impatient. Maybe it’s because I’m still relatively young and that kind of patience will come with time. Who knows. But I don’t see myself waiting around forever to make something happen. I’ve made peace with the fact that I’ll never be a fisherman. 😊

What I do regret are the moments I missed, those stunning, almost cinematic scenes where I didn’t have my camera with me, or I was just too late to capture them. Right time, right place… if only.

Anyway, I’m drifting off topic.

What fulfills me the most? Nature, without a doubt. Maybe it’s because the journey to the final photo is unforgettable in itself. It fills you with inspiration, energy, and breathtaking scenes. The play of light and shadow, the animals, the plants, they fascinate me every single time.

It’s always interesting to see hikers, even the ones with cameras, pass by these incredible scenes, completely focused on getting to their destination. Their goal? To snap the photo, the one that’s already been taken a million times. Honestly, at this point, I’m sure AI could replicate it down to the finest detail.

Me? I’m the one looking where others don’t. Sometimes I get it completely wrong. But sometimes… I strike gold.

Right now, I’m working on a new photo series that I think will surprise quite a few people. If you’re into black-and-white photography, check out my profile and you’ll get a taste of what I’m up to. I haven’t seen anyone else doing something quite like this. And hey, someone’s got to be first, right?

I’ll just say this: the theme is nature, up close, and a whole lot of shades.

Well, that's it for today's topic. Thank you very much for your attention and support. Without you, my camera would rest in the corner. See you next time with another theme.
Stay blessed
