The Christian walk isn't for the faint of heart...
Before I get into the gist of this latest reflection, let me share with you a verse that has been rolling around in my mind for a few days now...

The context of what Christ is saying in this verse is when He's about to get arrested and then put on trial. He knows what is coming, He knows that pain that is about to happen....He knows that His flesh is...Weak. And while we are followers of Him will never know the depths of the anguish He went through, we know...This walk isn't always a smooth ride.
It's crazy because the world thinks Christianity is something that it is not. It's not all warm and fuzzy when push comes to shove. Sure the heavenly things will be great, but the bible says we are going to be tested like never before in these times.
I always wonder if it's 'easier' per se for someone who grew up in the faith, to put on the whole armor of God when things get rough. My situation, while not unique, isn't ripe with growing up in a 'Godly' environment. In fact, s I've mentioned before on this blog, I grew up as secular as it gets. No 'church' or bible for this guy growing up. In fact, I didn't get baptized until my super late 30's. So the foundation at first was never there....
This was all new to me, but something I caught onto VERY early was...As soon as you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, the devil goes ALL OUT to attack your life. Since I claimed Christ, I've lost businesses, my home, potentially millions of dollars in crypto, and have been 'rebuilding' since that fateful day in April of 2017.
The flesh has been VERY weak at times throughout this journey. I've questioned myself at more than one time while seemingly being attacked on all fronts. Just asking this of God...
"When do I get a win God? When can I just be comfortable again?"
Buckle up buttercup....You can't if you are setting your mind on earthly things. You are in the devil's playground and his sights are set on you. Expect, the unexpected and be ready to call on that armor of God spoken of in Ephesians 6.
But here's the most important thing I have learned while on the journey of sanctification:

Seek the kingdom of God...First!
And seek His righteousness!
Stop trying to fix everything yourself and heaven forbid, expect things to turn around because of what you do. It's Him. It's always and forever Him.
And when we focus on spiritual things and less on the worldly things, that's how we win in the end. That's how we get through the bumps int h road that are guaranteed to come our way.
The devil isn't after the people that don't care about God. He isn't after those that mock and scoff. Those aren't his enemies....The enemies of Satan are the ones that KNOW the flesh is weak. Yet always seek God and ask Him for His strength through all the trials and tribulations.

@jongolson, thanks for sharing, the flesh is weak indeed. It is only by the power of the HOLY SPIRIT we can overcome.
As Christians,in as much as we are here on planet earth, trials, temptations and tribulations will always come our way,but the ability to stand is important.
Men ought to pray and not faint should always be our motto as believers. Thanks once again @jongolson for this reminder of the FLESH.Have a great day.
Amen and amen!
Thanks for stopping by.
You are most welcome @jongolson.
Matthew chapter 6 is my single favorite chapter in the Bible. Love it!
It's so good. Absolutely perfect.
You have made a lot of points here friend. One of those is the fact that the devil and his team are fully against those who see the light even in this dark world. It was one of the questions a friend asked me yesterday; 'how can I be a friend of God?'. And as the Holy ghost led me I took her straight to Mathew 22:37-38. This scripture is so significant that I feel we should sing it in every seconds of our lives.
Amen and amen!
Great points. Yeah the devil is after all of us that have submitted to Christ. Full force.
Nevertheless, we are not in anyway disadvantaged. We are more than conquerors.

The least I could do. I know it's not a lot, but I think every little bit moves the needle.
It serves as a strong reminder that our thoughts are often challenged in deep ways.
Indeed!
The flesh is weak, but the important thing is to stay on the right path.
absolutely!
