It’s that time of the week when I reflect on how my mainstream social activity is going so far. I’d say I’ve been progressing consistently over the past six weeks. Each week, I’ve been trying different approaches to see which ones make an impact and support my growth. I’m also completely anonymous on TikTok, so it’s interesting to observe how people react as they come across my page.
As we all know, mainstream social apps like TikTok tend to favor posts and users that show their personality—face value really matters. But that’s not the kind of approach I want to take. I prefer to focus on showcasing my content and engaging meaningfully with others. I believe that can leave a stronger, longer-lasting impression. I’ll have to continue testing that theory throughout my journey on the platform.
Regarding my video content over the past two weeks, I’ve been experimenting with CapCut templates to see how the audience responds. Honestly, the templates are very easy to use—you just upload the required clips, and the tool automatically trims them to fit the beat of the linked song. The only issue is that some clips don’t quite match the speed or timing of the transitions, which can make parts of the video look awkward or less impactful.
So this week, I took a different approach. I simply uploaded a single video clip directly to TikTok, added effects if necessary, chose a song that suited the content, added captions and hashtags, and posted it. It was super simple and didn’t require much thought since I didn’t have to worry about transitions. Surprisingly, it worked just as well—if not better—than the CapCut-based videos. That was a valuable learning experience. It seems that posting authentic “everyday” content can also resonate with an audience on the platform.
Another observation I made is that people respond more to comments than they do to likes. This was probably the most game-changing insight I had this past week.
Previously, I was just hitting the like button freely—it’s free and unlimited, after all. But that also made me realize that something given too freely loses its value. It didn’t seem to make much of an impact, and I concluded that it wasn’t the best use of my time.
So what did I do differently this week? I selected posts I genuinely enjoyed, gave them a like, and added a thoughtful comment—and it worked! I received great feedback. Many users replied to my comments, liked my posts back, and some even followed me. How cool is that?
This showed me that even if I only engage with 10 TikTok videos, leaving a like and a meaningful comment can lead to more valuable interactions than just mindlessly liking everything in my feed. I’ve learned that being “trigger-happy” with the like button is pointless. This week, I established a new principle: meaningful engagement leads to meaningful results. I plan to stick with this approach in the coming weeks.
Last week’s stats:
- Following: 87
- Followers: 27
This week’s stats:
- Following: 110
- Followers: 39

I’m still working toward reaching 100 followers to unlock more detailed analytics about my audience. I’m not sure what to expect once I get access to that, but for now, my focus is on building genuine connections with viewers to continue improving my page stats in the coming weeks.
Overall, this week has been full of valuable insights and small but meaningful wins on my TikTok journey. I'm learning that authentic content and genuine engagement go a long way in building real connections. As I continue experimenting and growing, I’m excited to see where this path leads next.
Your growth is quite impressive. Ive trying out YouTube too. But I realized that shooting a video and editing it are two different task and both are tedious. Nevertheless, hoping you'll succeed :)
Editing video is a lot easier in TikTok or Capcut 😁. Most of my videos I edit in under 5 mins while some is under 1 minute if using Capcut templates.
Try editing this way 😉
I always see your videos on my “For You” page!
TikTok has a weird algorithm😅
ohhh, that's a good insight to have. thanks for sharing.
i thought the fyp algo usually shows random stuff or videos related to what you seem to like :D
Yup you’re right it does! I noticed that like you said if it’s something I like and I follow the creator it will show it to me. But I almost never see any videos from the rest of the moots😆
Just keep it pushing! Your videos are amazing!
Looking really good! Keep going
Thanks! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
If you ask me, I'll only tell you that my most active platform is the hive blockchain 😊😃
I'm also active here in Hive and my activity in TikTok is my way of bridging my connections here to there, and back here 😁.
My future goal is grow the community of creators 😁
I have tried to do something on TikTok. But, taking pictures or videos aren't things that I do on daily basis. I guess, the only reason that I attempted was because some people are saying that it is lucrative.
I left it for now, because I have no content to share over there.
Good luck to you,
I often move around the city because of work, and I like taking photos and videos... hence I started Tiktok & Youtube to declutter my phone's memory hehehe
As soon as I posted them on Tiktok, I could already delete the photos/videos from my phone, very helpful :D
That is nice.. I don't recall anyone saying such feedback about using YouTube or TikTok... And of course, taking a lot of videos would take a huge space from the phone's memory.
I’m so happy for your growth , I look forward to seeing more amazing content on your platform.
Thank you! I will try my best to post more :)

Excellent friend, that interaction you have with users of the TikTok platform also continues to increase your followers as well as those you follow. It achieves great feedback between you and the users you leave comments for.
im noticing good feedback from other tiktok users and it makes me feel motivated :)
I'll share more updates soon!
Your takeaway about meaningful comments vs. mindless likes really hit home. I’ve noticed the same thing, and your experience confirms it’s worth the extra effort to engage properly.
it works well here on Hive and even in other platforms like Tiktok :) What's important is to make legit engagement with other users to grow our network.
I totally agree with you that leaving a comment leaves a lastng effect.
It means a lot that someone took the time digest your content and leave a meaningful comment. That's how connection and consequently, growth happens.
Indeed. In most cases, comments when done right and it feels authentic then it can have a better result :)
Muchas felicidades y a conquistar más éxitos 👏👏👏
Gracias :)
😘
I stayed away of TikTok because I saw too many of my friends getting addicted to the content on short model
What do you think of short vs regular or long contents?
Peace
during my first 2 weeks i find myself endlessly scrolling but then I realized that I can train the algorithm of my feed to show me the valuable contents and now I'm having a nice user experience using the tiktok app :)
It is super cool
Have a nice Saturday
