This is what the landscape looks like; in and around Waterton Lake, Alberta. There has been about 7 years growth since a devastating forest fire blew through here. These photos were captured from the hiking trail to Bertha Lake, last Summer. This place has some of the best landscape photo ops I have ever encountered. Just magical. I would recommend coming to this national park, instead of the Big four (Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, and Yoho) this year, due to the fact that many Canadians are ticked off with Trump (and the tariffs), and therefore do not want to travel south this year, and instead will visit the Big four. Personally, I think this would be a great opportunity to head south to Waterton, or even into Glacier park, USA. Thanks for stopping by.

It's been ages since I've been at Waterton. Last Alberta camping I did was awesome. Started at Writing on Stone, camped a different spot every day through the badlands, and eventually ended at the incredible Weaskewin museum. Spent 2 days at the museum. Highly recommend going there.

It's not planned some type of replant trees? 7 years it's a lot, yet I can't see new even small trees, only the old burned ones reminding what happened...
If a lot of people will do holidays in the big 4 definitely worth go somewhere else, too much crowd there
Good question. Leave it up to the gov to proceed slowly. Last year Jasper was devastated, due to, some would say mismanagement of forests. Depends who you ask.

The last picture is stunning. I must confess that they all seem to have the same terrains. I don't think Canadians will continue to remain mad at Trump forever, but for now, tourism in the big four seems to be experiencing an increase.
Yes, the Big four I believe will be insanely busy, and people will surprised at the amount of tourists showing up.
Awesome pictures, the burned trees really come out well in monochrome. Then the color you can see the green starting the cycle over, very cool.
Glaciers is a cool park, worth the visit just like Waterton up north. Great pictures!
