Why we need to clean our environments everyday

in CLEAN PLANET • last month

Greetings my lovely friends 😊
Every day, we clean our surroundings not just for fun or to look busy, but because it is important and affects how we live, breathe, and feel. Imagine waking up in the morning and stepping outside only to be greeted by scattered dirt, rotting food, smelly gutters, and buzzing flies. That alone can spoil someone’s mood for the whole day. But if we make it a point to clean our surroundings every day, we give ourselves and others a peaceful, refreshing start. In the same way that we bathe every day to keep our bodies clean, we must also take care of our environment to keep it clean, healthy, and inviting.

One strong reason why it’s necessary to clean our environment every day is because dirt doesn’t stop building up. Dust settles from the air, leaves fall from trees, people drop wrappers, and food particles attract pests. Even if we wait just a few days, all that little dirt will accumulate into a large mess. But by cleaning every day, we stop it from piling up and becoming too much to handle. It also helps prevent things like blocked drainages, mosquito breeding, or the terrible smell of decay. A clean environment is a safe environment, where diseases like malaria, cholera, and typhoid have no place to hide.

Another reason is that cleanliness inspires respect and dignity in others. It demonstrates our responsibility and concern for both ourselves and those around us when our surroundings are clean. It gives a good impression to visitors and even improves how we feel about where we live. It makes our homes, schools, markets, and streets look attractive, pleasant, and worth being proud of. And when everyone gets involved children, adults, even elders it creates unity. People begin to watch out for one another and help one another keep things clean.

Even nature benefits from our daily cleaning. Trees grow better when plastic and waste don’t choke their roots. Animals roam freely without getting stuck in trash. Water flows better in clear gutters. When we clean every day, we protect the earth and make it a better place for the next generation.

So whether it’s sweeping a compound, picking up litter, or clearing out drainages, it’s not just a task it’s a necessary act of love and care that helps us all live better.
The pictures below depicts my cleaning activity for today.
