FungiFriday: Finding Wild Tropical Mushrooms in Sumatra

A mushroom walk we did last Sunday still left my legs feeling sore. I should have done some warm-up and stretching first to be more prepared for the challenging journey through steep forest terrain, plus the hot weather reaching 34°C. The rain a few days earlier did not immediately change the temperature to cool, and we found fewer mushrooms than we did during the rainy season from August to early January.

We found those wild mushrooms on rotten fallen tree branches, with some growing on thin twigs. The dense tree canopy protected the mushrooms from the sun's heat, so they still looked fresh when we found them. You can see them randomly below.
